Ken Way was the guy that was sacked, did some good stuff (by his own account), I tend to agree we need a psychologist:

Find it amazing we don't currently have one at the club, especially given how young our squad is. I hope we aren't overlooking the mental side of the game.

Totally agree, I have been saying this for a while.

Think Brendan and the club know more about the psychology of competitive football than Foxestalk posters. Nothing to see here.

..the fact that our owners have not re-appointed one, would mean they agree with this policy!!!

I agree that we need to have one in place but this also creates a problem for someone like Rodgers who uses his personality and man management skills to influence players. An avenue for hiding presents itself, for a player, which will lead to a contradictory mindset, which will then take the influence from Rodgers with his charge.

A man manager renowned for his skill in cutting through to players uses a form of psychology and  you would not want patients continually seeking a second opinion.

There doesn’t seem to be anyone in the staff page related to a sports psychologist, only a sports scientist. And I don’t know if we’re advertising for one. We don’t seem to have a dedicated guy from my brief and half-arsed look. How many clubs even have sports psychologists?
