Hi everyone,

Ive recently stumbled across this page finding that Janx, was a great character back in 2007 at the Leicester games. He sadly died on 26th January 2007, and I was overwhelmed reading the kind messages our family received after this tragic news was brought to us. As you may be able to see by my display name, I am his son. Now 18, I was wondering if anyone on here remembers him, and has any stories they remember of him at the football? Id love to know if anyone has any stories of my dad or any fond memories of him. Please try share this message as I know there are a few members here who may remember my dad. Thank you all

Never met him in person sadly, the other people @Finnegan mentioned are going to be far more likely to give you insight into what he was like in real life. I’d be more than willing to ask a few people I know who don’t post on here anymore who knew him well if they’d be willing to talk to you if you want.

On here he was knowledgable, funny, and didn’t suffer idiots 😂. I imagine he’d of probably packed in posting awhile ago if he was still with us but he’s still sorely missed.

I just think it’s really good what you are doing, trying to find out about your Dad.

It was many years ago, but you are hunting and wanting to find out about him.

Whatever you are finding out, whether it’s a little or a lot, my take on this thread is the positive way in which a son is searching and wanting to know more about his father after all these years.

A very encouraging thread, I am sure your Dad would be proud of what you are doing.

@JanxJR I hope you enjoyed that today and I wanted to let you know that I thought of your dad for a moment pre-kick off and raised a glass and have done since.

He'd have loved that, today.

I imagine I was not alone in that as your Dad was much loved and very well thought of in the circles I moved in; and no doubt elsewhere too.

I hope you had a wonderful day and if you are reading, Neil, that one was for you mate!

Emotions definitely got the better of me today no doubt, he would have absolutely loved it! Definitely getting one of the winners shirts to put on his memorial in the memorial garden down at the KP. Hope you enjoyed it mate, what a result for us!

He definitely would have by now! Can’t imagine what he would have thought of the Puel era! sure he would have loved today’s result though.

Hey you.

I had the absolute pleasure to meet up with Janx a whole load of times before matches. Your Dad was a gorgeous man, a brilliant laugh, and then very sadly missed. MarkyMark, Lisa and whatever Carl went by on here all loved him dearly.

I thought of him immediately as the ball rippled the net yesterday. <3

I can’t believe how many people remember him so many years on, it’s so great to hear. I bet he would have been buzzing seeing yesterday!

I remember him very well. We all used to meet up at the Counting House before & after games. I sat next to him a couple of games too & remember arguing how good/rubbish Danny Tiatto was. Outside of City he gave me some very good advice when I was going through a tough time in my life & was always there to talk to when I needed a chat.

When someone passes I find people tend to overstate the positives & don't tend to portary an accurate representation. However I can genuinely say your Dad was a great guy. He was so funny & always had a mischievous twinkle in his eye. It was a pleasure to have known him. He still wrong about Danny Tiatto though!

He was a good bloke and part of our pre and post match Counting House crew. He also knew my family from back in the day as well, we had a few chats about that. An all round nice guy.

Janx was part a sizable crowd of us that initially became aware of each other on the old LCFC forums - Overtime we started to meet up before and after games (Counting House before, High Cross after). For at least 1 year we all moved our season tickets to be together in L1 - My seat was next to Janx that season.

Janx was an extremely humorous and also intelligent man - Still very much missed.

I don't live in england anymore but on the rare occasions that I get back to Leicester I would make a point of visiting the memorial garden where his ashes were scattered. I sincerely hope that area will be left untouched in the redevelopment plans.
