Tbh think we’ve been quite generous. Thought there were a few 4 star performers out there! Bertrand, Daley-Campbell, Vestegaard, KDH, Choudhury, Thomas all had nights to forget.

Yes I've gone for a 3 for the worst player (Vestergaard - He's so weak physically and positionally) and quite a few 4's as there were some really poor performances - I agree the names above 

 

How many staked a claim to be considered for the game on Saturday? Daka only in my view - There were the odd sparks from Lookman and Barnes but overall I thought they were average

Ward 7 Can't be many better reserve keepers

VDC 4 Over-cautious due to nerves? Avoided difficult passes/overlaps

Soyuncu 7 Rough around edges but held defence together & made important interventions

Vestergaard 4 Good distribution, awfully vulnerable defensively - simply can't have been this poor at Saints/Denmark; confidence?

Bertrand 6 Meh

Thomas 5 A bit hesitant - due to lack of recent games?

Chowdhury 6 Busy, but lacked creativity

KDH 6 Busy, but lacked creativity

Barnes 6 Nice opportunist goal, quiet otherwise

Daka 6 Good movement, good touches, little service

Lookman 7 Worked hard, made things happen 1st half

Subs 6 None had much impact

 

We lacked creativity and quality passing in central midfield, but I wouldn't blame KDH & Chowdhury for that as it's not their game.

I wouldn't blame Rodgers either as we don't have a "reserve Tielemans" - except Maddison, who arguably lacks the physicality, plays better further forward & needed resting, anyway.

In view of coming games, it was the right gamble to rest Youri, play KDH & Hamza - and give Barnes & Lookman game time further forward.

Is there a statistic for percentage of passes played towards a player's own goal?  Because if there is, Choudhury has to be near the top of the table.

I think KDH and Hamza had a tough gig; two youngsters in a midfield pair agains a possession side who had 3 in the middle. Overall, I think they both did ok in the circumstances. VDC looked out of his depth to me. Thomas ok, Vest and Bert are looking increasingly like poor signings - last night was a game we need them to step up, but both v poor.
