Milky Posted 25 November 2005 Posted 25 November 2005 The majority of his signings haven't come from the SPL though. i said he "looks no further" than the spl. as in that's the furthest away he goes!!!!
Louise Posted 25 November 2005 Posted 25 November 2005 i said he "looks no further" than the spl. as in that's the furthest away he goes!!!! He was always off scouting abroad in the close season though. We've had foreign trialists before, as you pointed out we signed Gerrbrand, we also almost signed Sturm.
Milky Posted 25 November 2005 Posted 25 November 2005 He was always off scouting abroad in the close season though. We've had foreign trialists before, as you pointed out we signed Gerrbrand, we also almost signed Sturm. yes, he was off scouting all the time, so you have to ask the question what the hell was he watching? where is the end product? he sais he has 4 players in mind for jan so let's wait and see. it sounds promising, let's hope he doesn't disappoint.
Manwell Pablo Posted 25 November 2005 Posted 25 November 2005 The majority of his signings haven't come from the SPL though. Sorry im not saying its a bad thing but they have. 1) Hughes 2) Sylla 3) Maybury 4) De Vries 5) Hammil 6) Douglas 7) Kisnorbo 1) Henderson 2) Gilbert 3) Hume 4) Hammond 5) Smith ( not that loan signings count) 6) Gerrbrand 7) Mcarthy 50/50 unless ive forgotten someone wich is more then likely. still 50% have come from the SPL. More importantly the players from the SPL play more.

And from CL's whole time here: SPL: 1) Hughes 2) Sylla 3) Maybury 4) De Vries 5) Hammil 6) Douglas 7) Kisnorbo 8) Hirschfeld Other: 1) Henderson 2) Gilbert 3) Hume 4) Hammond 5) Smith 6) Gerrbrand 7) McCarthy 8) Johansson 9) Kenton 10) Taylor 11) Moore

SPL Majority.
Milky Posted 25 November 2005 Posted 25 November 2005 surely the main point is. how many not from spl or england? not enough in my view 1)Gerrbrand
Louise Posted 25 November 2005 Posted 25 November 2005 How many are perminent signings how many on loan. SPL Majority. Why does it matter if they're on loan or not? Surely what we're talking about is Levein's scouting and signing policy, therefore it doesn't matter whether they're on loan or not. Besides, you were talking earlier about appearances made, Hirschfeld made just 1, whereas loan signings Taylor, More, Kenton and Smith have all made more than that.
Guest Posted 25 November 2005 Posted 25 November 2005 yes, he was off scouting all the time, so you have to ask the question what the hell was he watching? where is the end product? And how do we know he hasn't made offers for various players, who have (unbelievably ) turned down the opportunity to come here?
Katy Posted 25 November 2005 Posted 25 November 2005 And how do we know he hasn't made offers for various players, who have (unbelievably ) turned down the opportunity to come here? Very true. I think its a case of wait and see who turns up in January. Shoot me down in flames if you wish but I can wait for the next part the season. In Jan we should have 4 brand spanking new players and a Weso back. Things can only get better

Katy Posted 25 November 2005 Posted 25 November 2005 You forgot Jase is your support (for Jase) slipping Jase is bar, my support for the 'cox is unwaining DG Maybe after his loan spell at Blackpool he will come back a brand new player so thats FIVE brand spanking new players

Pretty much like the fact he's signed SPL players doesn't matter. But of the perminent signings more are from the SPL then everywhere else, put togther. SPL Majority
wirralsimon Posted 25 November 2005 Posted 25 November 2005 I said I'd give CL to the end of the season and I still stand by that. Can't for the life of me undertand why having a 'CL Out?' poll every five minutes helps things along. I knew there would be bad days and bad results on the way when I decided I would back him for the season, I'm in this for the long haul and next summer is the time to pass judgement, not on the bounce from a disappointing equaliser in what wasn't a bad game. Simon

Simon yes, i'll judge him at the end of the season as well when he's had a full season in charge. though if this was a school report i would have to say he was under achieving and making some weird decisions. he doesn't look like making the grade in the summer, but if he recognises his errors and corrects his ways he still has a chance to do well.
Dr The Singh Posted 25 November 2005 Posted 25 November 2005 Well it doesn't matter. Pretty much like the fact he's signed SPL players doesn't matter. If he has learnt anything, majority will be from English Leagues rather than unknown's from SPL!!

The only one I hadn't herd of from the SPL was Joe Hammil.
Chimp Posted 25 November 2005 Posted 25 November 2005 yes, i'll judge him at the end of the season as well when he's had a full season in charge. I'll probably leave it until about this time next season before I start holding a knife to his throat, um, not literally of course. though if this was a school report i would have to say he was under achieving and making some weird decisions. he doesn't look like making the grade in the summer, but if he recognises his errors and corrects his ways he still has a chance to do well. , yes, that's a good way of putting it I suppose.
