I think I heard somewhere that Ian Stringer left for health reasons

You wouldn’t leave for health reasons, you would sort yourself out and return. Also no mention of him leaving means something must have gone on. Maybe health issues led to something else? We will never know.

Correct, but now on the road to recovery and working for Talksport.

Edit, can’t wait for him to do a Bristol City game! Hello Ian… :giggle:

Good to hear he’s on the road to recovery !

that's not always true is it. Let's be honest i think it was common knowledge that he was having mental health issues. The main thing is he seems to be coming out of the other side. He may just have thought he needs a change of work place to help with his mental health.

It's no one's business other than Ian's anyway. It really doesn't matter.

in my opinion RL has improved a lot over the past year or so with Owen, Jack and Pipes. Shame Matt is leaving as he is very good at what he does and cares a lot about Leicester.

but none of this explains why he would leave without the station or himself saying anything about it. Obviously I wouldn’t expect mental health to be mentioned in an explanation but a presenter doesn’t normally just disappear from a station having served them for a decent amount of time without a word from either side.

What utter nonsense from you. I think his reason for leaving has been made fairly clear. How much explanation should be expected and how much would make you happy?

Personally, I'm glad to hear him on talksport. He sounds well and I'm glad he's got a new gig. Good on him.

His reason for leaving has not been made clear, I have not heard anything apart from a mention of health issues on here. I don’t want an explanation and am happy to hear he has work elsewhere - I just feel that the station should acknowledge that he has left to be fair to those who have listened to him for many years.

I think he would be a brilliant commentator for TV.  Was a lot of times on radio where you wouldn't a clue what was going on. But all in all I think he was a huge improvement on what came before him. The thought of John barber still makes me feel ill.

All the best Mr Stringer
