Anyone else worked out what’s the deal with trains for this? Planning to jump on at Manchester to get to Liverpool and have mates coming from Leeds. I know the transpennine is up the spout on this day but I can’t find anything on specific services?

National Rail website reckons that a timetable for the Saturday, will be published on Tuesday 1st November.

I wouldn’t bother with the trains, there are national strikes this weekend

I certainly wouldn't rely on them.   But you just need to wait and see what service they claim they'll be running.

The last few RMT strikes have been very variable, in how they affect services.     eg Cross Country services between Leicester and Peterboro/Cambridge have been very badly affected.   Whilst Thameslink Peterborough - London services were pretty much a normal service, albeit terminating at London rather than Horsham.

(Services all depends on what % of drivers are in the RMT union, rather than ASLEF (and obviously what % are on strike for each Train Operating Company).   It also depends on whether the trains need guards, whether the stations need "train departure staff",  if they have enough signalmen to open the line, etc.  Lots of variables.)

See I’m hoping that I might be lucky on the 5th. I’ll only be needing the line between Manchester and Liverpool. Hearing at least a few might be on.

I'd have a contingency in place to be honest. The last couple of strikes, trains scheduled from Leeds were pulled on the day.
