Darth Fox Posted 14 December 2005 Posted 14 December 2005 I realise most people might have Evo 5 but I'm still plugging away trying to win all the various leagues on 4 but one thing I find rock hard. Headed goals! The only headed goals I score are usually when the keeper palms a shot and incoming player dives and heads it. From corner kicks or standard crosses from runs down the wing the header tends to balloon over the bar. Does anyone know the secret?
Foxes_Wizard_Striker Posted 14 December 2005 Posted 14 December 2005 Tap the circle button twice when crossing, the ball will travel with pace oh also fill up halfway of half way of meter when you are taking a corner
werestandingup_weresittingdown Posted 14 December 2005 Posted 14 December 2005 i am also still ploughing my through evo 4!!! I find it almost impossible to score with a header from a normal cross, always flies over the bar! HOWEVER, if you double tap cross and send in a slightly lower cross, although a greater number of crosses will get cut out, if you win the header you should keep it down and score!! I score a good number of headers in this way. of course its probably easier to cut it back but theres nothing like the feeling of sticking away a bullet header is there???? yours sincerely GAMESMASTER!!!
Darth Fox Posted 14 December 2005 Author Posted 14 December 2005 Thanks for the advice. I'll try that next time I play it. Awesome game though. Does winning all the cups unlock anything?
Foxes_Wizard_Striker Posted 14 December 2005 Posted 14 December 2005 Not really mostly you would use your PES4 money to buy new things I have won all cups and leagues and master league div 2 league and div 2 cup pretty good on my CV!!
Anish Posted 14 December 2005 Posted 14 December 2005 PES4 and PES5 are far too difficult when it comes to headed goals - I'm not saying it should be easy but it should be easier than the game makes it. One of the letdowns of the game.

One of the letdowns of the game. I score no end of headed goals on Pro Evo 5. It isn't that difficult if you double tap O also when putting corners in put loads of curl on them.
Bert Posted 14 December 2005 Posted 14 December 2005 The biggest change i've seen from PES4 to PES5 is chipped goals, they were so easy on PES4 i could score them from the 6 yard box, but now i cant score them at all.....

Yep, it's a major flaw of the game. I mean you are one v one with the goalkeeper, and you can't chip it over him cos more times than not he will save it. In real life the goalies never know when the striker is going to chip it over him! Suffice to say I am one of the few who is not impressed by PES5, and yet I'm still infruriatingly addicted to the game It's good when you're playing with your mates but on one player mode I just don't like it at all compared to the previous PESs
The People's Hero Posted 14 December 2005 Posted 14 December 2005 I've played it a few times against my mates, I don't have it yet. I've scored a couple of screamers but just find it harder to put away the simple chances. It makes for good highlights and some great goals but a total drop in realism.

You have to make sure you relese the button before he heads it othrwise it will put too much on it and go flying over the bar.

I think I just get so used to the last PES and all it's minor details that when it's changed I find it frustrating.
Cat Burger Posted 15 December 2005 Posted 15 December 2005 I couldnt go back to playing pro evo 4 now, 5 is amazing...I do only play against mates though. Scored an amazing volley with Rooney today, outside swerve from about 35 yards...quali-tay!!!
Darth Fox Posted 28 December 2005 Author Posted 28 December 2005 Cheers for the advice, I'm now whipping crosses into the middle with the double tap method and scoring some blinding headers. I also scored a 30 yard volley yesterday for Morocco vs Italy.
