Don’t mean this rudely but what do KP actually gain from owning Leuven?

The money is peanuts and it’s not acting as a feeder club for us

Belgium is hardly a big publicity opportunity either.

Only reason I can think off would probably get me banned for libel

I'd bet before Vichai's passing there were plans for a stronger link between the clubs, but because Top is in WAY above his head it's just left in its current capacity.

Kortrijk and Beerschot have been relegated. They will be replaced by Zulte Waregem who won the 2nd division and La Louvière who finished second.

USG's form and Genk's wheels coming off completely is spectacular.

OHL conceding 9 goals in two games against Dender is pretty awful.

I have only watched highlights, but Pletinckx looks an extremely suspect footballer. Reminds me of Faes in more ways than one.

Would OHL want Euvrard back?

I never really know how much involvement JR has over there to be honest, lots of OHL posters on here seem to think it's run very seperately except for decisions on sackings, I remember the chat around it taking 3 weeks longer to get rid of Garcia because Top wasn't responding lol

Don't mean this rudely but what do KP actually gain from owning Leicester? A club that jojos back and forth between the Championship and the PL isn't exactly a moneymaker either, and probably far more costly than owning a stable first divison club in Belgium. Not only that, but we're a football club in a very interesting economic region, with very little competition from other teams, closest being Mechelen and maybe Westerlo both to the north. East (all the way to Sint-Truiden) and south is a big blind spot with a huge potential for an additional fanbase and sponsorship deals.

Interestingly, he's been a very solid defender for us but he needs someone next to him with more coaching and leadership to really shine. He's not exactly been helped by Coleman altering our defense (and the team in general) literally every game.

Can't imagine him not being on the longlist. His firing five years ago was justified after a horrible second half of the season and losing the first leg of the promotion final against Beerschot. But he's grown a lot since then, and what he's doing with Dender is nothing short of spectacular considering their team and resources. That said, there are quite a few other Belgian options on the market, like Geraerts (great spell at Union), De Roeck (did very well at Antwerp before he got fired, which nobody really understood as he overperformed with the team they had), maybe even Hein Vanhaezebrouck (tactically one of the best in Belgium, currently on an at least one year hiatus).

I guess the slight issue with this format, if you're in the middle one, is that you can basically throw the towel in as soon as you can't catch the top team lol

Financially way more than Leuven. It’s not even 5 years ago we were regularly competing for Europe and winning cups. I bet just one of those seasons dwarfs their entire earnings from Leuven over 10 years. Tv deals alone are 100+ mil a season. Even if Leuven got to the stage where they were fighting for titles every season, I bet finishing dead last in the premier would be worth 10/20 times more than 1st in the Belgian league.
Not to be disrespectful to Leuven but I think that you were bought as a learning tool for Top and cynically to promote Thai football where the work permits are less strict than here

You're mixing up revenue with earnings. Your club has been generating a net loss for at least the last three years: 92M GBP in 21-22, 90M in 22-23 and about 20M in 23-24. How do you think that will go now that you are back in the Championship? I'll give you a hint, it's going to be redder than red. The money KP loses from owning Leicester is way higher than the losses we incur, or incurred at least because we're very much going to be in the green both this season and the next. Oh, and five years ago you were competing for Europe but since then you've been relegated twice.

PS: Not to be disrespectful to you but you obviously know ef all about my club, so maybe go make your assumptions somewhere else. Thanks.

Earnings are irrelevant when finishing 18th in the premier is worth nearly 10x what you’d get for finishing 1st in the pro league. Under kp you’ve recorded 90m losses, ohl are hardly a cash cow. Pretty much every club is running at a loss since lockdown. Fact of the matter is that 1 successful season is worth far and away more than 20 good seasons in Belgium. For reference the play off final game tomorrow is worth 220m, it’d take the Belgian league winners nearly 20 years consecutively winning to achieve that. It is less risk less reward, the stakes are nowhere near as high and if kp wanted a nice little earner they could open a savings account. It’s not what it’s about, Belgian league can’t compete with English football in terms of money no matter how you try to spin it.

PS: stop getting so defensive and sensitive, you’re quite literally on an Lcfc forum maybe take your assumptions to ohltalk
