Would probably be better for us if he was going.  A couple of uncharacteristically good performances could help us sell him.  Unless Monaco actually want him, then it's better he doesn't injure himself.

Good.

I’d say would’ve been better if he’d been selected

could have been been part of the sale deal as an add on

Don’t see a downside if he’d been picked

Him going and flailing about against Iran and New Zealand would do nothing for his value. It's not like he's a kid, everyone knows what he's about at this stage. It's probably already agreed anyway.

Suspect it will be another loan. Why pay a fee when he'll be free in a year and we have no bargaining power

Guess the idea would be to tie him down before he hits the free market and has more options if anyone truly wants him

How many players will we have at the worldcup?

Just abdul and souttar? Apparntly clubs get 200k per player , denmark making it would have been the only useful contributions by vestergarde and VK couldnt even bring us some slight financial relief the tarts

Don't forget our star from last season Jordan Ayew or doesn't he count as his contract hasn't been renewed?

He’s our player till June 30

Is that June 30th this year or did our supreme contract negotiator Rudders  get him to sign an extension  until June 2030.

He does an ACL and just gets a wage off us for a year.

Leicester City defender Harry Souttar has been named in the Australia squad for the World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico which starts next week.

He managed only two games for Leicester last season because of a ruptured Achilles tendon which he sustained while on loan at Sheffield United in 2024.

The 27-year-old has already made 37 appearances for the Socceroos, scoring 11 goals, and featured for them at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar where he started all four games as they were beaten in the last 16 by eventual tournament winners Argentina.

Souttar was born in Aberdeen but despite featuring for Scotland's under-17 team, he switched his allegiance to Australia in 2019.

Australia are in Group D for the tournament alongside Paraguay, Turkey and co-hosts, the USA. They start their campaign against Turkey on Sunday, 14 June.
