You’d think eventually the money in European club competition will far outweigh the money in these pointless nation league tournaments, and clubs will be empowered to send reserve players to international duty. Likewise sending sh1t players to the World Cup and euros whilst the first team plays in the world club cup in Oman. Matter of time surely, even with a 48 team World Cup the $$ still don’t add up to taking international football seriously

Fifa won't allow it to happen. They make so much money on the world cup etc, and I think they hate the likes of the Premier league making so much money. Fifa still holds the power and anything that risks losing them money won't happen.

Whilst many people in this country hate the international breaks, other countries that have poor club leagues like Scotland for example probably look forward to international football

I like a break. Otherwise it's relentless.

League's are supposed to be relentless.

Far too many international breaks.

The womens game is probably how they want the mens game to be, womens game seems to be less than half games are league games.

Yeh true re fifa. Just wonder when the tipping point comes when FIFA and uefa are making so much out of the club game that they sacrifice international football for more club matches. Surely not too far away if FIFA make a bucketload from the world club cup in 2025.
I’m sure many fans look forward to internationals and I don’t think they’ll ever stop, but be treated like the cups, reserve team player tournaments

There's four across the whole season which doesn't strike me as being far too many. Four weeks out of a season that runs from August to May is not really that bad and as much as it's not ideal how the first three have been so close together, there's now not another one until March so we can look forward to four months of sweet, uninterrupted Cooperball

There is currently 4 international breaks in a season. In 26/27 the good news is it is being reduced to three.

Bad news is first one will 3 weeks long. International teams will play four games in this period

Sounds horrible.

Do what Rugby does . Carry on with the league fixtures anyway  . Would be funny to watch .

Have the League Cup in these international breaks. Some mini round-robin leagues before Christmas & then knock-outs after.

If some teams have to play kids to make up the numbers, then so be it, but it will give the competition its own flavour, be one less tournament for teams to disrespect and will reduce the number of potential fixtures on the calendar for international players.

Years ago I watched football nearly every day. I'd watched prem games, England games, anything that was on, I'd watch it.

Now I can barely even be arsed watching Leicester games let alone any other. I don't find it as exciting as I once did and the poor running of the club and how shit we are now is a factor but I just think football in general has gone boring.

Years ago, big champions league games and el classicos etc I'd be all up for but I've not actually watched a full game of football (other than Leicester and non league) for a long time.

I don't even watch motd or any kind of highlights shows anymore. They say too much of something isn't a good thing and this is exactly what's happened with football. There is too much of it and it's not as entertaining as it once was.

My sentiments exactly.

What is the point of yet another break when so many players from the big six find way of avoiding selection, and the answer to that seems to be let’s give out caps to even more new players.

Used to hate the international breaks…. Super Steve now has me loving them as it gives me a week off from watching his garbage football

****in shit these.

Get them gone. Useless international breaks ruining smaller clubs’ seasons.

And the big clubs don’t feel any effects because they don’t let their players go.
