So they’ve put it below the singing section where people don’t actually stand? Makes sense.

Maybe that's a good sign that they'll do the whole KOP.

Given we can’t sell out our current corporate offering and the expansion being heavily based around corporate. I suspect this won’t be happening for a while

SAFE STANDING PROPOSAL UPDATE

We have detailed our predicted demand for standing spaces and locations we feel suitable to position standing blocks.

https://www.unionfs.co.uk/safe-standing-proposal.html

This proposal was put to LCFC in November and we will continue our work in the coming months.

UFS.

Really interesting read and a real disappointment that the club haven’t even acknowledged this well written proposal. I think they’ll go for the top half of the KOP as standing which gives them the chance to expand it. Although it would be brilliant, I can’t see them doing option 1.

I was in the "bowl" as the club like to call it with about 30 mins to go to kick off and Jim was there showing loads of supporters the seats.

IMO safe standing should be in the Kop AND L1.

People have stood in L1 for 20 years. They should be able to do that safely.

Hopefully people take the chance to get in touch.

It's good seeing blue seats again let alone railed seats.

The colour of the old ones is embarrassing when you think how much money is in the game.

Yeah I just think that UFS have a bit of weight behind them as almost the unofficial supporter group. It's taken 10 years or whatever it's been of them lobbying for safe standing in SK4 and I think they can push to get it in other areas. I think their voice is certainly much louder than a few blokes in L1.

Doesn't affect me as such because I don't sit there but I can see the club clamping down on persistent standing in non-safe standing areas and I don't think that would be particularly fair on the people that sit there.

So yeah, great that safe standing is coming to the KP but IMO UFS have the voice to ensure that it isn't just restricted to SK4 and it'd be nice if they could help the other areas of the stadium whose match experience could get worse through no fault of their own.

I wonder if they will replace them all to match the new ones when the expansion is complete.

is t his really a problem? People sit on the seats - or atleast we should be selling tickets if they were priced reasonably enough! so that any faded blue wont be seen.

against Chelsea for the first time in my 20 years visiting the KP i sat on a white seat (in p2)! it felt oddly special. shame about the footy on offer

All sounds sensible to me, make the whole sk area standing. Best if L1 then moves in, but there is the argument a standing area near away fans is also required.

I think as long as it's clear what you are buying (standing/sitting) and are happy to adhere to sitting in seated seats, it's all fair enough.

What you want to avoid is a sense of entitlement cos say one stand/area is standing that those in seats in the same stand also end up standing.

For that reason I'd favour the whole sk standing then it's pretty clear, and provides the capacity needed. If necessary, why not move the away fans next to sk. That's the best solution, and how things used to be.

There are reasons why UFS aren't lobbying for areas in the East and North stand, they're all in the article.
