Disappointing meeting on teams this evening. Sounds like the club are favouring a ‘phased-approach’ starting with small areas that are already standing (singing section & L1). Despite Jim saying on many occasions that nothing has been decided, it sounds like a full kop end is out of the question because of the difficulty relocating people/‘bad pr’ it caused when creating the singing section, as well as the apparent poor uptake in that area. The more people that fill out the survey & get their thoughts to the club before the deadline on the 23rd the better.

Exactly what I said they'll do.

They won't do anything more that they have to, and they are scared of more standing, because that mean more oiks.

Jim has mentioned this a few times.

There was not a poor uptake ffs. It was the club not getting back to those who followed the shocking instructions on how to apply to area.

The area as is today is ‘full’ the club say as are refusing to allow relocations. Stuck in a shit limbo of never being able to grow it because of their refusal to tackle growth.

I think they’ll probably do G1 and SK1, L1 and P1 and see how it goes. Sounded like they were scared to commit to doing too many. The survey will tell a lot though if they make the results available

I doubt they'll even do that much tbh. Sounds as though none of what has been put to them has been listened to, which is really surprising actually.

The steward who heads the SK1 block spoke to me pre Brighton and asked for my thoughts on which rail type id preferred.

He stated that everyone he had spoken to preferred the ‘Celtic, QPR’ model rather than just the bar over current seats set up.

Club as usual will do the opposite to common sense and try their best to infuriate the fans whilst putting out sickly sweet social media posts to make the outside world think they're amazing.

Jim was quite rightly challenged on this last night and there wasn’t any acceptance that this was the case, when we all know it was.

I think the big thing will be whether they publish the survey results because if they go completely against that, it’ll look bad for their ‘PR’

That point was put to them. They’re honestly more concerned that they’d have large areas of the standing section that would be unsold, rather than having more people want to move into standing areas, which shows just out of touch they are.

If they go with the approach that I think they will, it’s not going to help the atmosphere at all, which is surely the main aim of standing sections.

Sounded like they’re going to cop out and completely miss the opportunity to do it properly which is infuriating.

Its not the main aim from the club.

As many of us have stated before, this would be led by appeasing the SGSA not the fans.

The club would've been quite happy to go along like it has for years, but they realise now that they can't.

So they'll look like their listening to fans, they have to, but we all know they're not.  I still have no idea why fans genuinely believe the club care about what we think on matters such as this.

The safe standing areas will be placed where fans stand now and that will be it.

Was watching the Soton game on the tv the other day. And even though they were getting battered by Spurs, it was noticeable how good the atmosphere was behind the goal where all the safe standing is in the second half.

Wish we would follow suit as we have a similar bowl style stadium, so clearly can work in the Premier League. Got a real opportunity here to make a big improvement to the atmosphere at the KP, just hope we take it.

Not even the top half of The Kop lol.

Absolute bottle jobs aren't they. Really is destined to be absolute shite down there forever.

I had hopes they would look at the work done by UFS and actually listen to the consultation work with fans.

Feels a big moment this that I worry will have a negative knock on for years. Hard to get enthused with wanting to grow and develop the atmosphere from this point.

But what was that hope based on?, you seem to have been up against it for years.

We have to realise they do not care about fans.  That's the same at many english clubs, not all though.

Unless the ownership changes it will always be this way, but there's no guarentee new owners would be any better.

Exactly this, the whole thing feels more like a box-ticking exercise to make current standing areas legal, rather than improving the atmosphere/fan experience.

They’re going to go big on the fact they’ve listened to the fans by creating the survey & holding meetings. Despite the overwhelming majority on the call being pro-larger safe standing areas, nearly every comment from Jim was a pushback. One of the concerns was from a lady who sits in J2.

Would be interesting to know if they think the overall ‘pr’ of the singing section is positive or negative.

The fact that it was the golden opportunity for real change, that they have brought in new staff purely for this move, the fact that after a very long time they were talking again to the suppliers of the 'better' rail seat.

But yeah looks like I was wrong to think that.

They use enough photos of it, should be talking royalties for my mug being all over their stuff recently.

What I would say is that judging by the tone of the consultation last night, they haven’t really got much of an idea of what they are going to do. Whilst it wouldn’t surprise any of us if they essentially bottled it, they haven’t really decided anything yet. They’ll be different opinions from inside the club as to what to do id imagine, they need to make the survey data available to view before they make a decision.

We really need more ST holders and members to respond to the survey so a strong message goes to the club.

Has everyone had emails asking them to fill it in? Some people seem not to have received it.

They do seem to care it’s just their care is all about this over the top policing of our fans and for the happy clappers to get their way. I’ll be very disappointed if they only do the areas of the stadium that already have safe standing, doesn’t allow for more people to be able to stand and means the atmosphere stays exactly how it is now. I'm sure they'll be quite happy to move fans in the East Stand when they finally do the expansion and fit in the extra Executive Boxes and Executive Seating

Anyone who has even the slightest of hopes that the club do anything but the absolute minimum are setting themselves up for the most obvious disappointment.

We know the club, we know what they will do.

Having said that I wonder how many of the posters on here have bothered with the survey.....

They may or may not but if you’ll find it gains more traction with local media etc if the survey has been answered by more people

The apathy to this sort of thing is what the club take advantage of
