To be fair to Cooper this squad now with the injuries is really poor. 

 

The problem is that he had the opportunity to strengthen the squad and select our strongest 11 when all were fit and he absolutely fluffed both. 

 

RVN has a hell of a job on his hands and if he gets a tune out of them it'll be extremely impressive. 

 

I think he will benefit from people fully realising the predicament we're in, he will still be able to attract players and he has a charisma Cooper could only dream of

4-4-2 out of possession suggests to me that we need one of the midfield 3 to be an attacking mid who can play on the left or right when needed (Bilal/Facu/Alves?)

 

I think the "2" will really suit Mavididi too who has played centrally a lot in his career. 

 

Suggests pressing and breaking with pace too, releasing Mav et all quickly in the transition.

It's a tough job. He probably knows it, or will get to know it, but these players (or a lot of) are not good enough. Hopefully he will keep us up and we can just improve the squad.

 

I'll reserve judgment on whether he's better than Cooper.

Only put of possession. He mentioned the box midfield in possession so when we are on the ball, one fullback will tuck in, probably the leftback. The right will push up as a winger with Mav on the other side and striker up top, the "box" will be the two deep CM's, the no.10 and the RWer so essentially Facundu tucking in beside Bilal and playing In front of winks and Ndidi.
