Last couple of posts have nailed it for me, our recruitment has been largely influenced by Manager inputs which mean we have ended up with a patchwork quilt of a squad, with players signed by Pearson, Ranieri, Puel, Rodgers, Maresca and now Cooper, all with different views on profile of players and different styles, we need to make a decision as a club as to how we want to play and then ensure that the club recruits managers and players to play that specific style, that way we maintain a level of consistency and it gives us a chance to recruit in a sustainable manner.

Binning players off after 6 months for a club like us given PSR is an absolute no no we cannot afford to operate such a scattergun recruitment policy for managers or players, it’s too costly a mistake to make.

The mish mash squad I think is at least partially we relying on manager and coaching staff contacts as Rudkin just isnt up to the job.

I noticed as well players that sign from lesser known leagues, have much better starting salaries which would help PSR no end.  We need to stop using the EPL as our main source of players.  Longer contracts as well, so the good ones we can actually build around instead of losing them within 1-2 years, you cant improve a squad doing that.

If the wages are lower its easier to get rid of the ones we dont want as well.  Easier said than done though with the clowns we have running the show.

Do any of us know how we play now?Serious question because i don't!As above we've got a mish mash of players who,Fair play to RVN is trying to make into a team. The thing is Top relying on Rudkin has put us in this position......Top needs to have some balls to admit the last few years have been shit and do something about it before we spunk another god knows how many millions on players and end up staying in the Championship for years......if we're lucky!

The mish mash is due to squad depth, we've been like that before, under Rodgers for 2 seasons we had no right wing, everything wide went through Barnes, now we have similar which is why mavididi might be struggling, but maresca ball came through against man city with facundo and bilal playing as the 8's but lacking in the width on that right side as instead of Winks as the pivot, we have soumare in the mix too. We desperately need a winger and a full back.

The fans now.

If you want any indication of how far away the fanbase is from reality then have a look on Facebook at the Jonny Evans happy birthday post from the club.

Am personally not on Facebook, but take it that it's abuse towards him?..

Top's, because he cannot see Rudkin is the issue.

Think, we approached Moyes and Potter (apparantly). They wouldn't touch it. It's becoming known what a shambles we are to the wider football world. Even Lineker is openly talking about it.

No

It's people saying he was amazing and if we had him now we'd be fine.

Oh and that he should have gotten a contract extension.
