I'm after ideas to where we can host this year's UFS charity football tournament as our current venue is a little limited in terms of size.

For the past two years we've used The Grove, in Braunstone, which is great, but only has two pitches. Prior to this we used to host it at St Margaret's Pastures but ending up needing to move due to cost and reluctance around having a BBQ effectively making it impossible to raise money.

Looking for venues that can ideally meet the following:

- 3 or 4x 5/6-a-side Astro pitches

- OK with having multiple Gazebos with a BBQ

- OK with us selling our food and drink, including cans of beer

- Close to Leicester (I.e not Coalville or Loughborough distance)

Those points generally rule out Astro pitches on school properties, which really limits us and places such as Goals charge astronomical prices.

We've currently got enquires out at a few places but wanted to see if there were other options we're potentially missing. Any ideas appreciated!

Rename it mate, remove "UFS" (U F**king Scallywags) and replace with "LCFC Pride" and you can get full access to Seagrave, the KP stadium and at least twelvety social media posts to promote it.

Other than that could you speak to the local FA or local leagues and see where they could recommend? Maybe even the LCFC community trust could help advise of somewhere?

Aylestone Park have a decent pitch but would probably want the grub for themselves as they have a cafe up there.

DMU/Beaumont Park behind Boggy Fleas Shopping Centre

Beaumont seems to be fully booked for May & June already. Didn't expect that.

Have sent a message to AP

Have tried the FA before and they're not the most supportive. They have alot of admin & fees around being an affiliated tournament before they'll help.

Depends how far out you want to go?

In North West Leicestershire you’ve got a few options.

Loughborough Uni:

Hermitage Leisure Centre, Coalville

Grace Dieu Football Academy

Ashby Ivanhoe Pitches (Use to be 3)

Newbridge School, Coalville

Alternatively, this gives a good idea on where most of the pitches are in Leicestershire!

Might be worth trying schools. Some places just want the site to be cleared after use.

We have Epworth Forest in every Sunday, they bring their own food van the lot.

Beer will be an issue though right?

We’ve held events before where people have brought alcohol.

Is a local park not an option?

Borrow some goals and cones and you're away.

It’s much bigger event now. We started that way 6 or so years ago but now it demands a bit more.

Not sure if any of these are any good. We book through these to play at Hathern.

Thank you.

Believe it has now been booked at Kirby. We will share dates etc soon, hopefully a foxestalk team can make it.

Plus plenty of spectators to help raise LOROS plenty of funds.
