petition re a new phone mast next to our school - the council didn't consult properly

Please sign this petition asking for a proper consultation on a phone mast next to our school.

Please help.  In Burbage we have a new 5G phone mast right next to a primary school.   For such a mast there should have been a proper consultation but the borough council failed to do this.   I accept that there is plenty of debate about the safety of such but it is not ideal to have our kids sitting so close for 7 hours per day.     Please take just a few seconds to sign this petition asking for the consultation to be repeated: https://www.change.org/p/halt-activation-review-decision-mast-ref-24-00689-tgdo-adj-sketchley-hill-primary-sc?recruiter=1372268008&recruited_by_id=285ef9a0-22c5-11f0-a9eb-f3054e1c7b2e&utm_source=share_petition&utm_campaign=petition_dashboard_share_modal&utm_medium=copylink

There's no credible evidence that says 5G is bad for human health.

I realise this is contentious - so we are just asking for the proper procedure to be followed.

To demonstrate the uncertain situation: A recent meta study showed it was more probable than not  that it was harmful - so you might be wrong or you could be right.  So given this uncertainty, how would  you feel about you kids learning next to a mast?  If there is a likelihood it may turn out to be a bad idea we can avoid the problem by putting  the mast 200yds down the street.

See: “Evidence for a health risk by RF on humans living around mobile phone base stations: From radiofrequency sickness to cancer”
It says that about 3 out of every 4 papers suggest this radiation is cancerous, 3/4 say it may have an effect on fertility and 3/4 say it causes radiation sickness.  It includes tests on animals living near masts (and so the effects cannot be psychosomatic.)

A piece in the BMJ said was not clear that it is safe and the rollout should be halted.

HBBC are rubbish.

We had a 5G mast put up on Normandy Way/Drake Way and there was no consultation whatsoever. The mast and the big cabinet that goes with it blocks the view of vehicles emerging from Drake Way onto the A47.

So, I've signed the petition as due process wasn't followed for either mast and probably won't be in many cases.

HBBC are rubbish.

Thanks you.

I get it that some people think this is all crazy - but I don't think the council considers the anxiety that this can cause parents or residents.

Gotta put it somewhere, unless you can personally do without continuous mobile live streaming of news, media and opinions.

Which, ironically, I'd quite happily live without.

Tin foil hat nonsense.

As long as they're under a certain height they can do what they want. And be thankful for it.

Nimby nonsense. Everyone so quick to criticise the infrastructure of this country, but no one actually wants it near them.

I wonder what people felt about telegraph poles and electrical pylons back in the day.

Signed it as a fellow Burbage resident. I don't believe or buy into the concerns around 5G, but I'll happily sign anything that puts HBBC under a bit of pressure as they are useless.

It's an eye sore at best and will knock plenty off house prices if you are at the rugby road roundabout end of Burbage - in fact there's a few £1m+ houses on that round that will now see it out their bedroom windows

I've just realised this video is blocked in the UK :ranieri:

It's the Gavin and Stacy clip where Sue is going hell and high water to protest a new phone mast (this was in the 3G days, using the same cancer scare bollocks that people are still beating on about today, people not understanding different types of radiation isn't new) and then continually complaining about the lack of phone signal.

That's the reason I signed.

Subsequently, I did a bit of a Google and found this bit of info. It's Cheltenham Borough Council but it must apply to all councils, including our shoddy self-serving bunch.
