I understand purple after I saw the category but we really need a way to do spoiler tags to be able to discuss it

First four letters of each word are synonymous of the same thing

Then the explanation for the purple category is:

 

The first 4 letters of the words (in capitals) is another way of saying something is a “dud” - like you can say a film is a flop or bombed, a product is bust or a song was a miss.
