The People's Hero Posted 28 December 2005 Posted 28 December 2005 Can someone update me as to exactly what emo is these days?
Foxes 2 da grave Posted 28 December 2005 Posted 28 December 2005 at emo as i know them is Emo (an abbreviation of "emotionally-driven Hardcore punk") is a term now broadly used to describe almost any form of guitar-driven alternative rock that expresses emotions beyond traditional punk's limited emotional palette of alienation and rage. It is also used to describe fans of this genre, most commonly teenagers. (e.g., emo kid). The actual term "emo" originated in the mid-1980s D.C. scene, with the band Rites of Spring, as well as bands such as Fugazi, Moss Icon, and Antioch Arrow. ...

Foxes 2 da grave Posted 28 December 2005 Posted 28 December 2005 Not McFly then! well im not an emo myself so i cant say but i accept being called a 'chavvy person' but at the end of the day we are all human and this gang sort of thing e.g mods rockers has happened all before so at the end of the day we are repeating history in moderner ways. when im gone is the best song off the album
Bert Posted 29 December 2005 Posted 29 December 2005 It is a good album but i dont like the version of Stan with that guy (who im not sure it is, my mate said Elton john) in it, Dido does it better.

Libertine Posted 30 December 2005 Posted 30 December 2005 I heard a conversation at school before we broke up along the lines of: "Hey, you got the new Eminem album?" "Yeh, but it's just all his old songs" It plainly says 'Greatest Hits' on the front cover, surely you wouldn't be shocked at that.

Cat Burger Posted 31 December 2005 Posted 31 December 2005 Elton John again? Eminem is a big homo. That's camp wrestler goldusts's curtain call finisher btw.
Hitesh Posted 3 January 2006 Posted 3 January 2006 its a good album but as Libertine said its just his greatest hits. Although it does have 2 new songs in it and the Stan Mixtape is good!
Finnegan Posted 3 January 2006 Posted 3 January 2006 Oi oi! Dropkick Murphys, someone with proper taste in music! I got my sister Curtain Call for Christmas - I'm not a big Eminem fan but it's a good collection, like. Same with all 'best-of' CDs though, really, they're great if you're not much of a big fan but like the singles, bit wank otherwise. Stan with Elton John's better than it could have been, too. PS: Emo? Hahaha. Grow up.
Finnegan Posted 3 January 2006 Posted 3 January 2006 I narrowly prefer Molly though, have to say. Just found 'The Tossers' too, off some Yank punk forum. Quality band, if you can find a tune called "Mad Riot" give it a listen.
lesta fox Posted 6 January 2006 Posted 6 January 2006 Curtain call is a great album with some amazing songs on
Jonesy_rules Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 yup, and its good, and also, whats wrong with emo?
