Hes clearly way out of his depth as a professional football manager.

I genuinely think half the posters on here could do a better job.

I hope to eat my words.   But I cant see it happening.

Can we stop with the “He’s a nice bloke” bullshit, its facade. Nice people don’t immediately become hyper defensive and whiny. Nice people don’t throw others under the bus.

He is a c unt.

What about the many accounts from people who’ve worked with him? I can’t recall a single report from anyone at any of his former clubs that suggests he’s a c unt.

His was a bad appointment and he’s feeling the pressure already. Lots of people—yes, even nice ones—do and say weird things under pressure. I understand why people are frustrated with him, but turning tactical failure into an all-encompassing moral verdict on somebody’s character seems a bit of a stretch to me.

You very rarely hear of player or playing staff openly calling managers c&&ts whilst they are all actively working. It affects their future employment.  We can only call it how we see it. He has a terrible record and is already throwing players under the bus and defending his approach at all costs, when all evidence suggests that’s a massive problem. After a thumping today, it’s only going to get worse.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to say his last two clubs have been absolute bin fires before, during and after his arrival/departure.

At rangers their previous two managers both had very brief upticks as they were appointed before rapid and complete collapses and subsequent firings. We were in an even worse state.

I don’t like the guy, didn’t want him here, but he is harshly treated imo. The job he’s done that is very fairly criticised (and heavily) imo is failure to adapt his style with Saints in the Prem. I wouldn’t rush to judge him on brief periods at the absolute shit shows that are us and rangers.

That's disappointing as I thought we could all agree that he's a wonderful human being.

We are a big story. Not the biggest by any means but they included us in the Five Live round up last week (the only non-Premier League story). We have been covered on Five Live, TalkSport, Football365. Prominent journalists have mentioned it. We have semi-regular articles about us in the I paper.

If we were winning we would have less coverage.

In our bubble we are a story. Bigger sports news has left us behind. It’s scary.

He needs a big big result today!

He shouldn't have called out the young players, very few people like the style of play as it is only effective at the highest level. However I just want us to win and get promoted. He needs to workout how to win game after game.

I would have sacked him, but he has been given a chance so needs to deliver.

Really??
Unable to beat Notts County, MK Dons, Burton and getting battered by Oxford.
He’s getting the criticism he deserves.
His arrogance does not reflect his achievements as a manager.
Apart from getting Southampton up and then having 1 win in 17 in the premiership and on course for the worst record he wouldn’t change his approach.
Dreadful manager.
Get rid asap.

The woe is me act is very tiresome and disingenuous but some people will buy it and use it as an excuse to vilify any criticism against him.

He knew what he was doing saying that, personally i think even lower of him now than i did before, very very manipulative man.

Calling him a c*nt is a bit over the top. Wind your neck in and relax.

I’m not saying he’s good, just that his reputation is probably much worse than it deserves given the state of his recent clubs.

We are an absolute cluster **** and have been for years. I was backing us to go down yet again before the season started regardless of manager. I had seen nothing, and have still seen nothing, to suggest that the speed of our collapse has even slowed down, nevermind that the decline has stopped and is now going in the opposite direction.

It looks like we are hurtling towards administration, without wider change no coach is going to reverse our direction of travel on or off the pitch imo.

He’s throwing young players under the bus and playing the mental health card a month into a very well paid job. He brings it on himself.

That's the team he chose to play.

Do u know.... I'm kinda feeling like the last few years we have built this laid back community around Seagrave... its fed into the young lads...

Strolling around , no urgency...

They have been force fed pass pass pass, it just doesn't happen now where we attack in numbers.

Watching games on tv over last couple of weeks we look nothing like what other teams do

I don’t think he deserves to be called a c*nt considering he’s the one giving the youth an opportunity to actually play.

I agree he’s crap and his football philosophy is shit and not working but some fans are taking him way to personally considering there are two other people involved to the majority of our downfall.

I get what you’re saying and like a lot of appointments before we should have got someone else in.
Challinor was imo the obvious choice.
Readily available and experience in this league.

I don’t know anyone who was actually happy that Martin got the job.

Completely agree we are a mess but I just think Martin was the last person we needed for the situation we are in.
His record is abysmal.

The young lads are the ones driving games, running and showing that intensity he craves. JJ, Alves and Brakebrooke covered a huge amount of ground over that 3 game period.

The problem is the experienced players - even the ones we brought in who have no excuse being tarnished by Seagrave. Burns is poor / slow. And dont get be started on Souttar. The experienced lot are supposed to be supporting the younger and providing necessary experience to get results over the line.

Dont understand why people blame the youth players when they are putting shifts in.

Yeah, Martin is the last guy I wanted, but I still feel sorry for him. Enzo is the only coach in years to temporarily reverse the damage being done daily by those in the boardroom.

I don’t understand why any coach worth anything would board our sinking ship by choice, presumably many of those appointed have been lied to. I guess Rudkin handing out long, well paid contracts like candy helps.

Not blaming the young lads, I mean they watch the senior players, and it kinda rubs off.

Watching the likes of Mavididi when he was here must have been thrilling.

Aspire to be a tricky ex arsenal winger 😝😝😉😉

True to an extent but giving them that opportunity also comes with the responsibility of developing them and protecting them and not just going out in front of the media and blaming them.

He gets the personal abuse from some because of his personality, he’s arrogant, egotistical and never responsible unless its positive. I’m sure he has many good traits but in a high profile job like football management these are the ones that stick out and are the ones hes judged by. We’ve had many crap managers over recent years and none of them really get the personal level of abuse because they were good men just bad at their jobs.

This latest interview of his is very cynical and manipulative, he knows hes under pressure so he plays the mental health card to try and distract from some very valid criticisms and muddy the waters.

As ive said, he brings it on himself and either way come rain or shine he will be paid millions for the opportunity.

They board it because we pay well and chances are you will get a long contract, work 8 months of it but still get paid the full 3-4 years.

Moving on another manager is all part of the problem.

We have problems throughout the club as we know, and moving on another manager is only making the situation even worse.

We lose a few games, it’s the managers fault. A proportion of the fans turn, and the only part of the club that could be stable and get us going is destabilised.

Cooper, VN, Rowett, Cifuentes and now it’s Martins turn.

I don’t believe sacking any of them have made one iota of difference.

It’s broken throughout, we know that, but I think the only chance we have of getting out of this is if we allow someone to build.

One of the biggest issues with our current strategy of hire and fire is if any players don’t get on with the manager, they just get the hump knowing that downing tools will inevitably lead to the manager going. We have to stop this cycle and dig in.

The other option is to add Martin the list of failures and then we can moan about another one that will fail. Each time us employing one with less credentials as nobody of any quality will join

But all of these managers you’ve listed are crap.

Regardless of the other issues, there’s no point committing to someone crap.

We all agree that King Power are the problem here - but a large part of that is them hiring substandard personnel, whether that be players, managers or other staff.

He’s an Office manager not a Football manager, the sort of bloke who loves a Monday morning pow wow meeting. So many people in the game now just talk about energy, process, intensity, it’s all bollox.  Another awful appointment by the clueless two.

Where’s he seeing all the personal abuse from fans? Not been that bad at games has it?

Unlikely people are doing it when he’s out and about either.

He’s definitely spending a lot of time on here isn’t he! lol No wonder he hates us already!

What would his username be?

They were until last week when Martin changed it completely, which sucked the life out of those players.

Page going from driving attacks to then having to watch Luke Thomas walk to the halfway line in the hope that Sammy can control a ball pinged at him while being marked.

The experienced players are his go to yes men directing this dross style and killing any energy or direct style.  They will all do as he says to get game time and (conjecture) whatever performance bonus’ go along with it.

They probably could’ve beat Oxford if the manager gave them no tactics.

He’s a football manager version of the pick up artists from the 2000s.
