There’s still differences. The way they’re moving it in attack definitely has got quicker and more varied.

The suicidal passing with Mccarthy was a parody at times. It needed Benny Hill background music. Don’t think we benefitted from it once.

I think that’s more a product of the change of formation and personnel rather than a big switch in tactics. There were still times prior to the formation change where we played fast and more direct and we did score some brilliantly worked goals, just not often enough.

The passing between the keeper and defence though was appalling.

Yes, we should support him. He's shown flexibility and compromise, it takes a brave man to do that especially when under threat and intense scrutiny. He appears to have turned around the bad culture round at the club and the players seem to like and respect him.  I've not seen them run back and forth to get back and defend like I have the last couple of games for a long time. I've never been a fan of pass it round the back excessively and always the same predictable style and hopefully he has now learnt that lesson from here and Rangers. We shored our team up in the great escape with 3 at the back and then later won the Premier with counter attacking football, possession doesn't win games. I think our use of subs have generally been good, fitness looks ok, all looks positive. Before him we had a series of previously (relatively) successful and well thought of Managers that struggled.. He deserves more time and a chance to get the team on a winning run, hopefully that has stared now. Separately, why would anyone ever want to boo their own team? Are they that stupid they really think it will make a positive difference? It doesn't it just annoys / de-motivates everyone. Like him or not, give him a chance and let's get behind him and the team.

I don't doubt there will be a few hiccups along the way, but I've been encouraged by our last two performances, albeit against supposedly 2 of the weaker teams in the league. Nonetheless, I think Martin has stumbled on a formula that could work. Unfortunately, we now have too many wingers at the club that aren't going to be utilised and with that in mind perhaps Watson's loan needs terminating in January (if that is possible).
