virtexpne Posted 10 January 2006 Posted 10 January 2006 Our Local Rag: Preston were previously linked with Walsall's young frontman Matty Fryatt. But the 19-year-old, who has 14 goals to his name this season, signed for Leicester City last night for an undisclosed fee. His arrival at the Walkers Stadium could reignite Preston's interest in Iain Hume, who they came close to signing in the summer from Tranmere. Hume was snatched from their grasp by Leicester, but has started only 12 games for the Foxes since moving there at the end of August and was only on the bench for the FA Cup tie against Tottenham on Sunday and wasn't used. I wouldn't have thought it very likely missen, you lot heard anything?
Gené and Tonic Posted 10 January 2006 Posted 10 January 2006 Nope, we haven't heard anything. But many people think he's the dogs wotzits so I can't see too much substance in it. If he were to go I'm sure Levein would want more than he payed for him anyway.
The Reverend Posted 10 January 2006 Posted 10 January 2006 Our Local Rag: I wouldn't have thought it very likely missen, you lot heard anything? Not a chance!
davieG Posted 10 January 2006 Posted 10 January 2006 Our Local Rag:I wouldn't have thought it very likely missen, you lot heard anything? I'd be bloody amazed, CL is trying to build a team with some longevity to it, he also trying to strenghthen our attacking options, so I would imagine I've got more chance of winning the Lotto than this happening and I don't even have a go.
Louise Posted 10 January 2006 Posted 10 January 2006 First Hughsey rumoured to be going, now Hume. I bet after we've lost to Wednesday no-one will want any of our players again.
davieG Posted 10 January 2006 Posted 10 January 2006 First Hughsey rumoured to be going, now Hume. I bet after we've lost to Wednesday no-one will want any of our players again. Not forgetting Joey & Williams. Based on Kelly's statement that no ones leaving, it would take silly money i.e in excess of £1mill for any of these to be considered. We need all these players just to avoid relegation.
Head Honcho Posted 10 January 2006 Posted 10 January 2006 Our Local Rag: I wouldn't have thought it very likely missen, you lot heard anything? He didn't join them because they couldn't afford his wage demands. I doubt anything has changed in 3 months unless they've dropped the Jackpot down Castle Bingo!
Chimp Posted 10 January 2006 Posted 10 January 2006 I wouldn't have thought it very likely missen, you lot heard anything? What does 'missen' mean? Oh, and the likelihood of CL wanting to sell Hume = 0
virtexpne Posted 10 January 2006 Author Posted 10 January 2006 What does 'missen' mean? Oh, and the likelihood of CL wanting to sell Hume = 0 Missen = Myself. Norfen speak.
C-man Posted 10 January 2006 Posted 10 January 2006 Missen = Myself. Norfen speak. Dirty stinking northern tramp Dont think humey will go to you, but stranger things have happened. For example on sunday night
Steven Posted 10 January 2006 Posted 10 January 2006 Posted by Durham Fox on another forum. Its widely known that Hume is unhappy here. <_<
Milky Posted 10 January 2006 Posted 10 January 2006 Posted by Durham Fox on another forum. <_< that's bull. he's become good mates with hammond and smith also. also, he's made a great start with the fans.
Scow Posted 10 January 2006 Posted 10 January 2006 Looks like they haven't got much to write about up in Preston.
Ajax Treesdown Posted 10 January 2006 Posted 10 January 2006 A gutted Preston fan, who on the football frenzy forum said he was gutted about missing out on Fryatt.
Steven Posted 10 January 2006 Posted 10 January 2006 that's bull. he's become good mates with hammond and smith also. also, he's made a great start with the fans. I just pass on this tittle tattle.
Barwell Posted 10 January 2006 Posted 10 January 2006 QUOTE Its widely known that Hume is unhappy here. Where do these people get these stories?? He won't be going anywhere.
Jordan Posted 11 January 2006 Posted 11 January 2006 Hume isn't Peter Gilbert--no way Levein is going to throw him away after a couple of months after he's given the kid a spot in the lineup.
Chimp Posted 11 January 2006 Posted 11 January 2006 Missen = Myself. Norfen speak. Oh, I see, well you're not in your northern shanty town now young man, we speak proper down here so please refrain from your regional coloquilisms from now on.
Ric Flair Posted 11 January 2006 Posted 11 January 2006 I know someone who regularly speaks to Hume and I can guarantee he's loving it at Leicester. I know at first he was reluctant to move as he'd just had a baby, but now he's bought a house in Leicestershire and his family have moved down with him. That story is just lazy journalism, Hume didn't want to go to Preston because of wages and because of other reasons i've been told. He's here for the duaration.

He lives on the same road as someone I know.
Leicester Rule! Posted 11 January 2006 Posted 11 January 2006 I hope that Ian Hume does stay at the club as he is an important first team player. I believe that him, Elvis, Mark and also new signing, Matthew Fryatt will prove to be a good choice of strikers, with each of them challenging for one anothers position. I think that this strikeforce could be the difference between staying up and relegation (or even between not getting promoted or getting promoted). I hope to see Ian at the club for the duration of the season and staying until the end of his contract. I am sure he will stay. Please don't go Ian.
Katy Posted 11 January 2006 Posted 11 January 2006 Nah Humey wont go, hes quite a happy chappy and I think you would be able to tell if he was unhappy.
