Peterborough Friendly Squad

Championship side Leicester City have confirmed they are bringing a first team squad for tonight's friendly at London Road and have named a 17-man party including plenty of household names including Jason Wilcox and David Connolly (pictured).

Former Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Kevin Pressman will be between the sticks for the Foxes while ex-Ipswich Town front man James Scowcroft is in the squad. Frenchman Lilian Nalis, who scored one of the goals of the season last year, is expected to be in midfield alongside Scot Gemmill.

Joey Gudjonsson and Danny Tiatto are also included, as is Matt Elliott, who will be looking for a solid performance as he looks to claim a regular spot in the Foxes back-line. Nathan Blake retired from international football this year to concentrate on club football and he is likely to start up front.

The squad, which contains no fewer than nine internationals, will face a Posh side including several players on their way back from injury. Posh boss Barry Fry is expected to include Peter Kennedy in his starting line-up after the Irishman came through Thursday's training session without any ill effects.

Leon Constantine and David Farrell will get at least another hour under their belts after both returning from injury in recent weeks. Admission for the friendly (7.45pm) is just £10 for adults and £5 for concessions in the South (lower tier only) and North Stands. Both terraces will be closed this evening.

Leicester: Pressman, Logan, Makin, Nalis, Williams, Scowcroft, Gemmill, Heath, Gudjonsson, Tiatto, Elliott, Wilcox, Blake, Canero, Stearman, Connolly, Butcher.

So just Stearman and Butcher involved from the academy - Apart from that, virtually a first team squad. :w00t:

Perhaps for them to get a win under thier belt and then for Adams to have another go at the fans saying this is the start of an unbeaten run.

Stearman will defo play as there's only two centre backs in the squad, him being one of them! I wish Wesolowski would be given a chance, I worryingly see he keeps getting played at right back for the reserves.

2 centre backs in the squad?? I counted three (Elliott, Heath, Stearman). Anyway, I doubt MA will be changing tactics for today's game, he's too stubborn for that. I would laugh if we lost today! And the thing about 9 internationals in the squad - what a joke. So they played for their respectives countries at one point, doesn't mean they still deserve the 'international player' label!

They were after a top notch side as opposition unfortunately we were all the could get.

They agreed to play Spurs but Spurs later pulled out so we stepped in.

Oh yes! Sorry my fault, I didn't see Heath on that list. How can anybody miss Heath? Such an awesome talent.

They almost make us sound good! They obviously haven't seen much of us this season.

Why is Adams is being a tosser again? Well done for starting Stearman, but putting a physiotherapist as a sub? He ALWAYS seems to do this, he does it pre season also. Just put a youth player in there like Doddsy or Wesolowski on the bench. He is employed as a physio, so why regularly pick him as a sub for friendlys?

Adams out.

I guess to keep there fitness going , instead of having a break

I'm guessing the academy sides are playing tomorrow, that could be the reason why there's a physio instead of some younger players.

Posted

But what is the point of a physio being on the bench??! He's paid to be a physio, not an emergency sub in friendly games! And we have enough cover anyway without him being named as a substitute. This is fooking ridiculous.

Posted
Fooking stupid! He's treating the friendly as a league match! FFS play some talent!

Thats what reserve games are for. I don't think you can criticise him for putting a strong side out.
