Cat Burger Posted 22 January 2006 Author Posted 22 January 2006 I haven't read it, had a quick browse when my mate was doing History work. Hitler was mental! I remember something like 'Monarchs graze on the side of the mountain like mountain goats, politicians are POWER' Was trying to get to a bit about him having one ball (the kids song can't be wrong!!!)

Rincewind Posted 27 January 2006 Posted 27 January 2006 Stephen King at the moment, but I like all sorts. Reading broadens your mind. I still have a lot of catching up to do before I reach genius level.
Benji Posted 27 January 2006 Posted 27 January 2006 Mein Kampf is quite a good read! Actually it is! The guy wasn't a brilliant writer, and the translation of it only adds to its' incoherancy, but interesting nevertheless.
Scarby Posted 27 January 2006 Posted 27 January 2006 Steve Alten - Meg was a great read, the actually decided it for me to go to uni to study Marine Biology and now im in my 3rd year studing evolution the question is the MEG alive to this day and will global warming incourage the shark to raise again. John Grisham (sp.) as well. Also like someone else said Danny Wallace his 3 books and Dave Gorman and Tony Hawks are very funny books. And inspired me on my bet i did last summer and my book im writng at the minute. But out of all of them the best author is or should i say will be ME!

Kurt Vonnegut, Jeanette Winterson, Adeline Yen Mah, Jane Austin, Charlotte Brontë, Charles Dickens, George Elliot, Thomas Hardy, Dante Alighieri, John Milton, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Karl Marx (and Friedrich Engels), William Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde, George Bernard Shaw and Tennessee Williams. I won't list my favourite poets.
MC Prussian Posted 28 January 2006 Posted 28 January 2006 Henning Mankell Yann Martel John Hersey Carl von Ossietzky Hermann Hesse E.T.A. Hoffmann And some of my favourite philosophers: Henry David Thoreau Friedrich Nietzsche John Locke Jean-Jacques Rousseau Arthur Schopenhauer Immanuel Kant
Chairman of the Bored Posted 28 January 2006 Posted 28 January 2006 Catch 22 - Joseph Heller. The greatest book ever written (apart from "Leicester Til I Die - The Last Season at Filbert Street" and "Fossils and Foxes"). Sums up the absurdity of life.
