Libertine Posted 23 January 2006 Share Posted 23 January 2006 Boss Previews Plymouth Clash Craig Levein says that James Wesolowski could be handed a shock start when the Foxes take on Plymouth on Tuesday evening (7:45pm). Wesolowski's emergence from the Academy was put on hold when the 18-year-old broke his leg during the pre-season friendly against Celtic last July. But the Australian midfielder made his first senior appearances as a second half substitute in Leicester's 2-1 defeat at the hands of Cardiff City on Saturday, and now he could be in line for place in the starting line up when City take on the Pilgrims at Home Park. Levein said: "James came on for the last 15 minutes against Cardiff on Saturday and he has shown no reaction to that this morning (Monday). There could, therefore, be an opportunity for him to start the game against Plymouth. It's good to see him back." The two sides originally locked horns back in November - but the elements got the better of the Home Park pitch on that occassion. He added: "The last game was called off - and rightly so. I'm not sure what the forecast is for Tuesday night, but hopefully we won't be in for a similar deluge this time round." The game gives City an opportunity to pull out of the relegation zone, while the hosts will be looking to springboard up to 16th position with a win. "Plymouth are in the middle of a reasonable run right now and they are just digging out results. That's what we need to do," said Levein. "We know how Plymouth play. We are pretty sure what their personnel are going to be so we are going to have to go down there and grind out a result. That's what Tuesday night is all about." Gareth Williams has been ruled out of the game with an ankle injury, while Joey Gudjonsson is available once again after serving a two match suspension. The Foxes will wear their yellow third kit for the fixture.
andyh1884 Posted 23 January 2006 Share Posted 23 January 2006 How is it a 'shock start'? firstly levein's a big fan of his so he's gonna play him whenever possible and secondly the previous few games have seen most of the midfield anonymous so clearly change is required

Milky Posted 23 January 2006 Share Posted 23 January 2006 I wouldn't bet on it. well, gudjonsson is a certain starter, so if weso starts, surely that will be the midfield partnership.

Mark Posted 23 January 2006 Share Posted 23 January 2006 He'll partner Gudjonsson, and they'll be awesome together. Levein has to realise now this is his final chance.
holly Posted 23 January 2006 Share Posted 23 January 2006 i reckon that would be a pretty good midfield imo, weso and joey, two players who like to get stuck in, well what i have heard and saw of weso anyway!

Benji Posted 23 January 2006 Share Posted 23 January 2006 weso and joey in the middle, hume and fryatt up front, smith on left phwoar.... and we're where in the league oh yea right that's it, because kisnorbo and de vries usually get the nod over hume and one of the midfielders
Mark Posted 23 January 2006 Share Posted 23 January 2006 A bit negative though? Not at all. They may be two fighters for the cause, but they are both effective going forward and defending. Perfect.

Sparky Posted 23 January 2006 Share Posted 23 January 2006 Not at all. They may be two fighters for the cause, but they are both effective going forward and defending. Perfect. im excited about this partnership but my only concern is thier both about 3ft tall and in the championship winning the ball in the air in midfield is vital but hey dont get me wrong its the best pairing available to play . anybody but the big aussie donkey love child kisnobbo

Thracian Posted 23 January 2006 Share Posted 23 January 2006 no way is that negative, it's tenacious and committed. Agreed. Weso is no Kisnorbo. He just bosses the whole show. Good control, simple distribution but very positive and constructive. I've only seen him twice, admittedly, but what a gem.
