lush Posted 6 February 2006 Posted 6 February 2006 Very early days i know, but im getting into the spirit of things now. Be interesting to see what team we pick now, and how it might change come june 10th. ----------------robinson -neville--charrager--terry----cole lampard--parker---gerrard--smith -----------rooney----owen Subs: james, ferdinand, defoe, beatie, carrick. Yes smith, our loaned winger. I would play downing, but hes injured, smith is class, and would have no problem playing alongside fully fledged internationals. He gives us balance too. You cant go wrong with rooney, owen, neville, terry, cole, lamps, gerrard and robbo. Charragher is alot better than credited, sol has gone awol, ferdinand has been publicly critisized by fergie, charragher can play anywhere along the back line, a cool dude. Parker is brilliant, hes a holding role player, which lamps and gerrard arnt, has a robotic heart, tackles with immense coolness, perfect under world cup pressure.

Random Burglar Posted 6 February 2006 Posted 6 February 2006 TBH i just wanted to be different. If Owen stays fit and is scoring at Newcastle then i would probably prefer him over Defoe. I just think Defoe is a timebomb waiting to explode for England and then we will see the very best of him.
Bert Posted 6 February 2006 Posted 6 February 2006 Robinson Neville Cole (wing backs) Terry Ferdinand (centre backs) Carragher Beckham Gerrard (Cenna mids) Lampard Owen Rooney

Who is Charrager when he's at home, I pressume you mean Jamie Carragher. The fact you grosley mis spelt his name shows how many times you've seen him play this season, obviously a very well informed descion to play him. Don't say it was a typing error, you splet it like that three times. 2. If your going to leave out the England captain and play a centre mid on the right, shouldnt it be Gerrard really seeing as he has been playing on the right for Liverpool. 3. Ryan Smith, you have supassed yourself there Lush, he can't even get in our team at the minute never mind the England team 4. Stewart Downing will not be injured for the Paraguay game. More importanly neither will Joe Cole who is quite a bit better on the left the Ryan Smith despite being right footed. Then again Joe Cole is a world class player not one strugling to get in Leicester Citys team. 5. The games not for another 4 months, half that team could be out injured by the time the game comes round, you think you should of left making this thread until the game is a week or two away. Besisdes Paraguay wont even by our next game we will have friendlys to play. It's nice to see your consistent at least, as you can't pick a decent England side as well as not being able to pick a decent Leicester side.
shen Posted 7 February 2006 Posted 7 February 2006 Robinson Neville Terry Ferdinand A Cole Gerrard Lampard Carrick J Cole Rooney Owen subs: Kirkland, Beckham, SWP, Crouch, Carragher I'd choose to drop Beckham and give Carrick a chance. Gerrard is without doubt a better player on the right than Beckham, and I just feel Beckham's crossing and set piece ability is only marginally better than Gerrard's, whose overall play is far superior to Beckhams IMO. I'd also give Aaron Lennon or SWP a try on the left wing to see if they could possibly displace Cole and offer some genuine pace on the left. I've not seen enough of Downing to judge whether or not he's good enough

shen Posted 7 February 2006 Posted 7 February 2006 Never going to happen! Maybe it will if Becks gets injured
filbertway Posted 11 February 2006 Posted 11 February 2006 My team would be Robinson Young Ferdinand Terry Cole Beckham Lampard Gerrard Cole Dj Campbell Rooney If DJ is injured then i would give Owen the task of trying to replace DJ.
City_4_Life Posted 11 February 2006 Posted 11 February 2006 I would pick: Robinson Neville Terry Ferdinand A.Cole Beckham Gerrard Lampard J.Cole Owen Rooney
Ric Flair Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 I would pick: Robinson Neville Terry Ferdinand A.Cole Beckham Gerrard Lampard J.Cole Owen Rooney That will be the team barring any injuries or suspensions in the tournament. I would like to see Fowler taken as a squad player, I still think he's the best finisher we have and if he gets in and amongst the goals for Liverpool in the next few months he should be taken.
TrickyTrev Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 I would pick: Robinson Neville Terry Ferdinand A.Cole Beckham Gerrard Lampard J.Cole Owen Rooney Yeap, team picks itself without injuries.
john_lcfc Posted 27 February 2006 Posted 27 February 2006 id pick Robinson G.Neville Terry Ferdinand Cole Beckham Gerrard Lampard A Cole Rooney Owen Subs: Joe Cole, Joey Barton , Carragher,Crouch,Andy Johnson.... sol can boggoff
TrickyTrev Posted 28 February 2006 Posted 28 February 2006 id pick Robinson G.Neville Terry Ferdinand Cole Beckham Gerrard Lampard A Cole Rooney Owen Subs: Joe Cole, Joey Barton , Carragher,Crouch,Andy Johnson.... sol can boggoff You have Ashley Cole playing twice, at the moment it looks doubtful if he is gonna be able to play at all. Oh and Andy Johnson, why?
Flemmish Posted 28 February 2006 Posted 28 February 2006 He could mean, Ashley Cole on the left side of the defence and Andy Cole on the left of midfield, although I doubt any of them will be going to the World Cup. I think he probably means Joe Cole is on the left.
Scarby Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 Paul Robinson (Tottenham), Gary Neville (Man Utd), John Terry (Chelsea), Rio Ferdinand (Man Utd), Wayne Bridge (Fulham), David Beckham (Real Madrid), Michael Carrick (Tottenham), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Joe Cole (Chelsea), Wayne Rooney (Man Utd), Darren Bent (Charlton)

Scarby Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 Lampard? Owen? Defoe? Ashley Cole? bugger thats the time against Uruguay tonight. ha ha
TrickyTrev Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 I want Scotty P to be in the team! Runs a round like a headless chicken and does not have the discipline for the holding role. No Thankyou. i want Carrick to play in defencive midfield because he is an intelligent player and a very able two fotted passer. He is the player to provide the balance that we so crave.
