Donkworld Posted 6 February 2006 Author Posted 6 February 2006 Isn't that for the over 65s .... ? Kind of......over 50s.
Katy Posted 6 February 2006 Posted 6 February 2006 Its been on Radio 5 that we are having a press conference at the moment but that its a bog standard Monday after a game press conference. Do you think we could refrain from ridiculing people who come on to post things like this? Not everyone is making it up and it could be a credible source we victimise and wont bother telling us things again. If people want to come on and post bullshite then it will just make them look like tits in the end wont it. Just a thought

I certainly wasn't trying to mislead anyone, just thought I'd heard an interesting piece of information.

Fox in a Box Posted 6 February 2006 Posted 6 February 2006 Well said KAT here here... stay away holloway!

Thracian Posted 6 February 2006 Posted 6 February 2006 Thank you Kat. I certainly wasn't trying to mislead anyone, just thought I'd heard an interesting piece of information. I don't think anyone thought you were trying to mislead people. To me the most pertinent official statement so far has been Jim McCahill's comment that procedures relating to applicants would take most of this week. I believe what he says and why he should therefore wilfully set himself up to be called a liar by making any announcement today defies logic. Another thing that interests me is how quiet it is at Luton just now. Holloway might go to Derby or he might not be in a job at all shortly but I think the Leicester situation depends most on the next statement from Mike Newell.

Luton won't say anything until Leicester offer him the job, if they do. He's been blatantly honest about what's gone on but until something else happens I don't think Newell or his club will say anything further.

He's been blatantly honest about what's gone on but until something else happens I don't think Newell or his club will say anything further. I would imagine the club would want to be able to offer Newell the job with their second choice already decided, so if Newell was to say no they can go immediately to their second choice before the media get hold of the story. Much better to do these things quietly, even it kills us not knowing what is going on.

Ric Flair Posted 6 February 2006 Posted 6 February 2006 I agreee and think their second choice will be Kelly for now. So if that's the case I would expect them to offer the job to Newell within the next 48 hours and have him in place before the Brighton game. If he doesn't fancy it then Kelly until the end of the season. Although I would keep Kelly gessing over his future, it seems to have had a positive effect. If we offer it him until the end of the season and he accepts and we then lose 2 or 3 games, the fans will be on to the board like a shot moaning that we shouldn't of waited to appoint a new manager, etc. Tricky one.

I think the board have been sensible in looking at all options including Newell, Holloway, and Cotterill and the fact that we have won 2 games on the trott has put less pressure on getting a manager asap but your right if we lose against brighton and so on, we will all be thinking what if....... The board have to make a decision quick
Bluefoxtim Posted 6 February 2006 Posted 6 February 2006 Hmmm did no-one hear what the chairman said? "we hope to concentate on the last few candidates by the end of the week"
