Head Honcho Posted 23 February 2006 Posted 23 February 2006 In 1986 I had £100 e/w on Shahrastani to win the Derby at 33/1 Forget the exact amount but it was over £4000. I was on a winning streak on Derby winners I picked the winner 9 years on the trot. Unfortunately can't remember picking the winner since-tell a lie Benny the Dip a few years ago I picked!

Nationwider Posted 23 February 2006 Posted 23 February 2006 £70 on Senegal to beat France in the last World Cup. Apart from that, sod all of any note.
Ric Flair Posted 24 February 2006 Posted 24 February 2006 I once backed trap 6 to win every race at Romford in a day, stuck a tenner on it and the odds were quite high. I won about £600. But also on that day I was betting on trap 6 in each race and won a further £250. It was heavily raining that day and i've always found that when it rains trap 6 is a great bet as the other traps tend to slide in together on the near side and get tangled up giving trap 6 a free run home. Has worked for me on a number of occasions anyway, irrespective of the odds. There was one trap 6 at 9/1 and I put a tenner on it much to the ammusement of my friends, only for it to obliterate the rest of them and give me one hell of a piss up.

Anish Posted 26 February 2006 Posted 26 February 2006 i've never had a bet. The only winners are the bookies kids. how about people's biggest losses? Same here although reading some of these comments makes me tempted!
Ric Flair Posted 27 February 2006 Posted 27 February 2006 i've never had a bet. The only winners are the bookies kids. how about people's biggest losses? I've lost a few hundred before. Not nice.
Head Honcho Posted 27 February 2006 Posted 27 February 2006 i've never had a bet. The only winners are the bookies kids. how about people's biggest losses? Your spot on there! and thats the reason why I look on it as entertainment, and like anything in the entertainment industry, it costs money! So I am paying to be entertained and if by any chance I've had a lucky day, then great! If not, then at least I've enjoyed myself I'm off to Cheltenham in a fortnight, it's cost me an arm and a leg just to get in, but you just can't beat it for entertainment and atmosphere!
marko Posted 28 February 2006 Posted 28 February 2006 Believe it or not but i've only lost once down the races, and that was £30. But i haven't been down since summer 2004.
