Head Honcho Posted 24 March 2006 Posted 24 March 2006 With confidence running high in the team at present does anyone think MDV would be any better? ........and who'd welcome him back!!
adam Posted 24 March 2006 Posted 24 March 2006 oh no thank you. He would soon change our fourtune with a few missed sitters.
securedfox Posted 24 March 2006 Posted 24 March 2006 With confidence running high in the team at present does anyone think MDV would be any better? ........and who'd welcome him back!! Our fortunes have changed behond recognition since he has gone, (and Levein of course) We seem to be doing alright up front at this time. Would'nt want to spoil that by shoving him in there
Ric Flair Posted 24 March 2006 Posted 24 March 2006 We play a different style of football when he plays for some reason, the other players seem to think it's acceptable to hoof the ball when de Vries plays.
IDEA OR IKEA Posted 24 March 2006 Posted 24 March 2006 has he scored for his new club yet? 12 in 14 games
Master Fox Posted 24 March 2006 Posted 24 March 2006 has he scored for his new club yet? Yeah he's scored once I think, they lost 4-1
Guest seanfox778 Posted 24 March 2006 Posted 24 March 2006 Very Funny!!! i feel very stupid as i believed this
Ric Flair Posted 24 March 2006 Posted 24 March 2006 has he scored for his new club yet? He's scored 1 goal in 5 league games. He's also played twice in the Uefa Cup and hasn't scored in either game. Poor record, he'll be back with us in the summer no doubt.
werestandingup_weresittingdown Posted 24 March 2006 Posted 24 March 2006 at the end of the day guys and gals, we do need a target man. Whether one is needed in the starting line up is obviously up for debate, especially with the two current liitle 'uns doing such a grand job. However, to have a successful campaign, a big target man is absolutely vital. If MDV doesnt return we shall have to sign someone with some presence upfront. In a league as scrappy and physical as the championship, there comes a point where you have to have some height and strength up the pitch.
Ric Flair Posted 24 March 2006 Posted 24 March 2006 and whats wrong with o'grady? Also Fryatt is nearly 6ft and alot better in the air than MDV anyway!

But the question is do you want Deep Freeze back, or perhaps someone else?
Anish Posted 24 March 2006 Posted 24 March 2006 It's depressing me to think that De Vries could return in the summer I don't want him anywhere near the first team if he does return. Also, I really can't see any other club that would take him off our hands, so we could be stuck with him for another year or 2. When De Vries and the other Scottish contingent moved here I expressed my surprise and apprehension of giving him a 3 year contract, and it looks like it could well and truly have backfired on us again.
The Don Posted 24 March 2006 Posted 24 March 2006 Also Fryatt is nearly 6ft and alot better in the air than MDV anyway! Don't forget Hume, Got a great spring!!
Phube Posted 24 March 2006 Posted 24 March 2006 Don't forget Hume, Got a great spring!! I was just going to say Hume is one of the best "target" men we have as he can out jump all but the best defenders!!
Molson Canadian Posted 24 March 2006 Posted 24 March 2006 MDV sucks if he came back he would ruin everything by missing easy goals something we all saw while he was here .... i wonder if the team who has him on loan decides to sign him will we get any money for him ?
werestandingup_weresittingdown Posted 24 March 2006 Posted 24 March 2006 Good point's . But the question is do you want Deep Freeze back, or perhaps someone else? in an ideal world i would like us to sign someone else of course, but in the reality that is our situation, i dont think we'll have enough £$ to bring in a quality striker. We honestly could do worse than have MDV back. Im not sure about his character, whether he's a good guy in the dressing room. This is obviously vital. On o'grady - really really like the lad but its far to soon to become dependant on him as our only other option to hume and fryatt. If one of the two were to get injuries, we will badly need some attacking alternatives. MDV could be one of those. If we are to push on next season and be successful, in terms of our strikeforce we will need Hume, Fryatt, O'Grady, and probably another 2 strikers. One of which MUST be a target man. If we let MDV go we will need to finance the signing of these two strikers along with the other blatent needed signings ie. minimum 2/3 midfielders. Having him back may prove useful as it just means one less player to sign/finance etc........................
Janx Posted 24 March 2006 Posted 24 March 2006 we'll have him out on loan before his big heed hits the Max Headroom sign at Leicester train station. I expect Warnock or Blackwell or some other transfer whore will take him!
Master Fox Posted 24 March 2006 Posted 24 March 2006 Hopefully Chambers will be just about ready to step up to the first team next season. I don't think De Vries really has a future at Leicester anymore, if Rob Kelly liked him he would never of put him out on loan. I just don't think De Vries is player you would want around the place, he's not exactly a good influence on our younger strikers. But to sum it up, De Vries just isn't good enough. Ps. Thanks for the goal against Spurs!
Wycombe Fox Posted 24 March 2006 Posted 24 March 2006 .... i wonder if the team who has him on loan decides to sign him will we get any money for him ? More likely that we'll have to pay them to take him off our hands!
Thracian Posted 24 March 2006 Posted 24 March 2006 With confidence running high in the team at present does anyone think MDV would be any better? ........and who'd welcome him back!! Let's go forwards.
coale39 Posted 24 March 2006 Posted 24 March 2006 Well MDV can come back as a mascot. They also go round and round the pitch looking stupid
lookwhaticando Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 He scored a few useful goals here and there. For that I'm thankful. What I won't miss is hearing him blast it over, or five mile wide at least 5 times a game. O'Grady is tall, and quite strong it seems, and he's supposed to be good at the hold-up play - which is something MDV was used for. So we've no real need for him. And the final negative point, one of the biggest and most important ones - when MDV played, we seemed to resort to hoofing it up the pitch to him. Judging by our massive lack of goals in the games he played, it clearly wasn't working for us - so why bother? Let's hope he bags a few more to encourage the Dutch to take him of our hands - hopefully for a semi-decent fee (I wouldn't say no to 100k).
