Yaxx Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 Yet again a cracking game was ruined by a bunch of clowns masquerading as match officials. I certainly hope the Reading players bought the ref a few beers as he did everything he possibly could to make damn sure that they didn't lose the game. There's been some pretty pisspoor refereeing this season but, my word, this joker was so biased he must have had a few bob on the game. And what of the linesmen? Well you couldn't make it up. I'm beginning to wonder if these fools deliberately make absurd decisions in order to stir up controversy or gain a little notoriety for themselves. The FA has the audacity to call these berks 'professionals'. Don't make me laugh. What's even more depressing is that the situation is clearly much worse on the international scene. I've got a horrible feeling that the World Cup is going to turn into one big pantomime at this rate.

Anish Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 I thought he did well in the first half, gave us the benefit of the doubt on a few occasions. There was one moment when Kitson (I think) was going clean through from a long ball and McCarthy hacked him down, but the ref gave nothing! He could've been sent off for that on another day. But in the 2nd half the ref was abysmal. Complete and utter garbage
Seagrave_Blueboy Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 Can someone clear up humes yellow card for me. From what i saw sonko whacked him in the face and then hume gets booked. i might be wrong but thats what i thought i saw.
Jamesino_LCFC Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 Championship refs are simply, a DISGRACE. I wish I had a quid for every time there has been an awful referee down at the Walkers.. I would be so rich, I could buy Leicester City and give Rob the appropriate funding for him to buy Christiano Ronaldo.

From what i saw sonko whacked him in the face and then hume gets booked. i might be wrong but thats what i thought i saw. That is exactly what I thought, however I was sitting in L1 so there was a chance I missed something and also we never know what might have happened, like Hume might have said something which could have warranted the yellow card.

Anish Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 From what I saw, although Hume was fouled, he retaliated by kickout out at Sonko whilst he was on the floor - hence the booking. But it was clearly a foul on Hume in the first place.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 The thing which infuriated me was when the ref looked over to his linesman on the far side to ask if it was a corner, the linesman obviously didn't have a clue as he was standing the width of the park away but a corner was given due to the ref indicating a corner and the linesman just flagging in agreement. What's the point in having linesman if they're just going to do whatever the ref says is right?

But it was clearly a foul on Hume in the first place. That could be the what happened, I didn't see any retaliation in which case we should still should have had the free kick so the ref obviously didn't recognise the foul on Hume

Anish Posted 25 March 2006 Posted 25 March 2006 Thing is McCarthy won the ball cleanly. But on the whole absolutly shocking reffing, because they are just so inconsistent. Not from where I and others around me saw it. Some of us were amazed that a foul wasn't given for that challenge. It's a game of opinions though.

Well yes that's a fair point Anish, but like you said from you where you ws sitting it looked a foul, but from where i was sitting it didn't. Let's not bicker about it though eh??

Phube Posted 26 March 2006 Posted 26 March 2006 Funniest, which I'm still not sure what happened is when Williams knocked out Stearman WE got a free kick, that Joey nearly scored from!!???
SystonFox Posted 26 March 2006 Posted 26 March 2006 Funniest, which I'm still not sure what happened is when Williams knocked out Stearman WE got a free kick, that Joey nearly scored from!!??? that was hilarious. brilliant reffing. he was good 1st half but abysmal 2nd half. i dont know how he missed a handball that led to the corner that they scored from too. shocking.
Sparky Posted 26 March 2006 Posted 26 March 2006 Thing is McCarthy won the ball cleanly. Agreed it's how you see it but I didn't think it was an unfair challenge but I saw enough of Kitson flinging himself on the ground trying to win free kicks by diving that I wouldn't feel inclined to award him anything
