Levein not al cracked up to be as good as we think

If they say he's too defensive then i believe them. I thought that anyway, you only have to look at their record this season to see that.

Totally agree, i think of everyone that has seriously been mentioned (Megson, Levein, Hoddle etc) Bassett and Wilko IMO are better managers and we would be better off with them.

See, once you actually take a closer look at people like Levein they don't seem so attractive as they once appeared.

Funny how everyone was slagging off Bassett and Wilko when they took charge but now alot of you want them as managers, I bloody don't!

Not for long :blink: Just until the right person is available. Till the end of the season if thats what it takes. I dont want people like Megson, i'm going off the idea of Levein seems like he likes the one man up front way too much, Hearts cant score and are one of the most boring teams to watch, according to their fans, well at least he wont turn us into that cause we already are just that :wacko: :unsure:

I'm a Celtic fan BTW - and I have got to say you have got one fine manager. Boss of the team that has in recent years been easily the best team outside of Glasgow.

And if that was not enough, he has led them to one or two good results against other clubs in Europe - i.e they beat Bordeaux away and have put a very good Braga side out of the UEFA Cup.- John83

as a hearts fan i will be gutted if CL goes to leicester..

the mans worked absolute wonders on no budget at all..

got us into europe 3 years on the trot... and is one of if not the best manager in scotland at the mo... (given he had to slash the wage bill by a third 3 years on the trot) i hope he stays but if not then u have bagged one of the best managers in todays game

You've had a good few Managers at LCFC in Martin O'Neil and Mickey Adams but I think that big Craig could be right up there with o'Neil.

Since he's been at Hearts he has improved the club year on year with an ever decreasing budget. The players believe in him, the fans love him and he's a good honest hard working pro.

The thing that sets him aside from the rest is that he understands what needs to be done at every level. He can adjust formations, read games and generally does the right thing.

It galls me to say it but if you get him you've a MAJOR coup.

Hope he stays in Edinburgh but if he doesn't then I wish you all the best in the Premiership next season. - Heartsfan

Why are people suddenly starting to doubt Levein, has it dawned on anyone that he may only play one up front because it suits the players he has available to him.

Look at O'Neill he was more defensively minded at Leicester compared to what he is at Celtic.

Levein will have a stronger squad at Leicester and I think it proves how tactically aware he is. I would imagine he will assess the squad available to him and then decide what tactics suit these players.

In one european match he played a 3-6-1 formation and got the result he needed. I think he sounds like the type of manager who will select tactics to suit the players available and the opposition, I think that makes him tactically aware, which is one thing Micky got slagged for. Lets be positive and get behind him instead of questioning his tactics even before he has been officially appointed.

Oooer 3-6-1, that's a bit unusual. As long as we don't play 9-1-0 like we normally do just after we've taken the lead I won't mind. ;)

Im willing to give this guy a chance, to be honest i dont know alot about but going on fans opinions , he seems a very good manager who is well disciplined ! So im willing to give him a chance . If we do appoint him im behind him 100%

I'm really not sure what to think.

One minute I feel he would be a fantastic appointment, the next I'm not so sure after reading some comments about him. I don't think many of us really know that much about him - We're just relying on what their fans and the press say. Take in to account some Hearts fans may be bitter in their judgement.

Seems to have a good track record at Hearts with the way he's taken them forward with such a limited budget.

Im a hearts fan who will be absolutely gutted if CL goes to you. Yes, he has been defensive this season especially, but we have had only one fit striker for most games and he was our 5th choice. You will be getting a manager who in my opinion is even better than O'neill on a limited budget. I am praying he stays in Edinburgh - he has worked wonders for us.
