Samu Posted 15 April 2006 Posted 15 April 2006 Last night the bouncer of the Three Bells pub in the main strip of oadby got shot in the leg by a drive-by. The main strip was still taped off by police this morning!!! Me , my girlfriend and our mates were at the pub just yards down the road! I heard about this, I'm quite glad I didn't go out into Oadby last night. I'm sure there will be some news about it in the Mercury. It's such a shame that things like this happen
The People's Hero Posted 15 April 2006 Posted 15 April 2006 Sounds like Oadby has gone downhill since I left. I suppose it was inevitable really.
City Fan Posted 15 April 2006 Posted 15 April 2006 Doorman injured in pub shooting A shopping centre in Leicestershire has been closed after a pub doorman was injured in a shooting. The incident took place at the Three Bells pub in Oadby village centre on Friday night. Eyewitnesses have said the pub's doorman was shot twice. Police confirmed a 45-year-old man was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening. The Oadby Parade shopping area has been cordoned off by police while they continue their inquiries. It will affect businesses from Chestnut Avenue to the A6. No arrests have been made. Peter Valentine, joint deputy leader of Oadby and Wigston Borough Council, said: "I am utterly shocked at the thought of what sounds like gangland violence arriving in Oadby. "This is normally a civilised place with decent people and this could be extremely difficult for local businesses." http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/leicest...ire/4911670.stm

Cobbo Posted 15 April 2006 Posted 15 April 2006 It's full of cock ends to be honest, but some mates of mine were thinking of going (yes, I'm mates with cock ends then, nicely put Cobbo) but luckily enough I decided to have a fun night in.
Steven Posted 15 April 2006 Posted 15 April 2006 The continuing use of Drugs by Politicians as a political tool has made armed criminal gangs and gun use more likely in the UK. Legalise drugs and spend the free time on ruthlessly cracking down on those that use guns. It is only a matter of time before criminal gangs routinely arm extremeists in this country. <_<
Leicester_Mad Posted 15 April 2006 Posted 15 April 2006 i was asked to go to the 3 bells last night luckily i had no money
Deathside Posted 16 April 2006 Posted 16 April 2006 And I thought the worst you could expect in Toadby was a driveby shouting
Cobbo Posted 16 April 2006 Posted 16 April 2006 Word on the street (well the Threshers next door) is that they may have been on a roof near by and then got driven off by someone. Apparently the police have arrested an 18 and 2 year old. All speculation mind, don't go sueing me or owt.
