Newcastle_Fox Posted 21 April 2006 Posted 21 April 2006 Whats the episode and series number, I shall download it.
Population-1 Posted 23 April 2006 Posted 23 April 2006 Sorry to blow the party but personally I thought it was rather tame, much like the vast majority of episodes post 1997-8. Gervais is a funny guy when he is reeling off his rather anarchic perspectives on modern day life, but this was a self-parody of a characterisation (i.e. Brent) and therefore made it rather dull and predictable. The fact he chose to focus 75% of the storyline on himself didn't help as all the potential was in the scenes with Homer and his 'reality-wife'. All in all, another episode where the Fox Corporation's gluttony for advertising revenue starved the opportunity of any true stoyline from developing - although in this case that was probably a charm. Sorry to be so negative, but you do kinda long for the days when Homer and Burns were in their prime and the scriptwriters were clever enough to contain two 'mini episodes' in each 22 minute slot. The 'guest stars' have become the be all and end all and the whole success of the series (i.e. its self created characters) have been left in the gutter. No that I am complaining, it gave us six great years!

No that I am complaining, it gave us six great years! Spot on. Couldn't agree more. I thought it was decent, better than most other recent ones anyway. As you say, I miss the days when it was on fire in the late 90s.
The People's Hero Posted 23 April 2006 Posted 23 April 2006 It's given us some great years as has been said and now and then the new episodes do make you chuckle. My box sets of the Simpsons, Futurama and Family Guy really do give me good entertainment on a night in. Granted some of it is hit and miss, but some of it is superb.
Benji Posted 23 April 2006 Posted 23 April 2006 was ok, the sofa bit was funniest but nothing special i hope a LOT of effort goes into the movie that will make a fortune money wise, even if it isn't the best, almost everyone will go see it
Rugby Fox Posted 23 April 2006 Posted 23 April 2006 I agree, todays episode was poor as have most of them been the last few years. Simpsons has passed its prime... 1995-2000ish
Rugby Fox Posted 23 April 2006 Posted 23 April 2006 Just downloaded it, it's pretty good!! Homers report on csi miami, the joke ricky tells marge and homer on lennys couch were the funniest bits. Yeh that made me laugh
NFFC Chris Posted 23 April 2006 Posted 23 April 2006 The Simpsons has gone too modern for it's own good,Marge and Lisa's personality's have changed from when it was at it's best, they have tried to make Marge funny with stupid jokes but I'm not laughing, she was funny as a nagging housewife, and Lisa's tone of voice is completely different, she sounds rude now,I watched tonight's episode and I wasn't impressed, another typical poor new episode
IDEA OR IKEA Posted 24 April 2006 Posted 24 April 2006 A very average episode. I marked out for it big time it was massive
Dr The Singh Posted 24 April 2006 Posted 24 April 2006 I marked out for it big time it was massive I missed it but from most of the posts, it seems it's like majority of the new simpsons episodes....very average in Simsons standards!!!! I've got bored with the Simpsons to be honest, the plots\storyline just get dafter and I suppose the funniness has just worn off!! I think they should bring about a adult version with graphic nudity, violence and cursing, that would get e interested again!!!!
