discojoe Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 looks like CL is tryin to bring him here according to teamtalk
Scarby Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 The Dutch lad can score goals in the Scottish Prem, but he could find it difficult hre after all he is 30 i think! So much for bringing youngsters in
Ric Flair Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 The Dutch lad can score goals in the Scottish Prem, but he could find it difficult hre after all he is 30 i think! So much for bringing youngsters in 32223 29 I think, 5 or 6 years younger than Dublin though. I'm sure Levein isn't totally against the odd older player, but they'll have to be quality. Where as under Adams talent didn't come in to it, just age.
Anish Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 I don't mind the odd 30year old striker - after all we signed Marshall, Cottee, Claridge when they were all near the end of their careers - and they all did a superb job for us.
Ricey Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 ...and what are we going to sign this guy with? We can't buy him yet however his contract is up and the end of the season.
Benji Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 according to a hearts fan we could get him for free in the jan transfer window!?!?!
Leicester_Mad Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 according to a hearts fan we could get him for free in the jan transfer window!?!?! 32276 i think its similar to the izzet situation last season. We can "pre sign" them in January for free and they will move at the end of the season

It seems we are getitng a knew old target man striker every season now. Deane, then ferdinand, then dublin. I wonder who it might be this season. Marc de vries?
filbertway Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 29 is not old, old is over 33/34 well football anyway. He's good for me on champ manager anyway. Well so was akinbiyi
gorgie jungle Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 I don't think he would be good enough for English football and I aint saying that so he stays with Hearts,I think that CL knows big marks to injury prone. How much cash you got spend if he could get fuller from portsmouth I think he would go for him. I would also look out for him going for Derek riordon(hibs),mark wilson(dundee unt) coming your way 2 super young players.
Ash Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 Dickov was 29 when we signed him 32345 Thats young compared to how old Les was when we signed him
Blue Tits Posted 2 November 2004 Posted 2 November 2004 Dickov was 29 when we signed him 32345 Thats young compared to how old Les was when we signed him 32346 I am too old at 52?
weluvulesta Posted 2 November 2004 Posted 2 November 2004 I think he would be a brilliant signing. He is most likely just at the peak of his carear, he is foreign and he is 6f 7"! :w00t:
TrickyTrev Posted 3 November 2004 Posted 3 November 2004 29 Old? It is buying a player in his peak. When he still has physical abilities but has gained experience.

No quality there? Crazy talk! Please lets not needlessly slag off a manager who didn't do a bad job while he was here. Sure it didn't go right in the end, and he has left a bit of a fix up job in terms of how we defend...but in his first season he was a revelation...don't bastardize that...don't tell me you weren't chanting his name when he came out on the pitch after we sealed promotion. Glad he has gone...for him and us, but I won't bury the guy!
Scow Posted 3 November 2004 Posted 3 November 2004 De Vries is basically the poor mans version of Scowcroft then?
Ash Posted 3 November 2004 Posted 3 November 2004 De Vries is basically the poor mans version of Scowcroft then? 33061 Goodbye De Vries
Scow Posted 3 November 2004 Posted 3 November 2004 Scowcroft/Connolly partnership is the way forward - Plus, they're both under 30.
Ash Posted 3 November 2004 Posted 3 November 2004 Scowcroft/Connolly partnership is the way forward - Plus, they're both under 30. 33066 Yes they do work well together i must admit

Scow Posted 3 November 2004 Posted 3 November 2004 Scowcroft won so much more in the air than Dublin. He also looked a lot more capable of holding up the ball up and bringing other's in to play. Showed some nice touches too, evading a few challenges with some nice foot work.

I'm sure Owen and Rooney would thrive off those exquisite flick ons....
