dhermon Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 as stated on sky today has agreed with the club to leave and hopes to have a new club by end of month http://skysports.planetfootball.com/Article.asp?id=235210 its at the bottom of article i missed it the first time just saw his name as i closed it and thought well i had better re read it to see what it had to say about him as well .........i wonder where he will end up..............
Scow Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 Oh dear, I can't imagine to think what the poster Petrescu will think of this.
Ric Flair Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 I knew this would happen soon. All I can say that until he makes it then it's not a horrendous mistake the club have made. If he does make it at another club, then we've no excuses but until then it's just one of those things. Petrescu has hardly done himself any favours really, especially with a new manager arriving. Gutted really.
Scarby Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 The question is now would he have made it!! A very sad day

Ricey Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 He couldn't of been that good for the club not to put up a fight, I bet he goes to some other club now and does #### all.
Benji Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 you'd of thought he'd have give levein a week to assess him?
SamuearlJackson Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 seems a strange one this. why go just when a new man is coming in? maybe the guys at the youth team level really didn't think he had progressed? such high hopes dashed... SamJ
Leicester_Mad Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 a similar thing happened to the Millwall "star" Cherno Samba.
davieG Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 Bizarre, the timing makes you think there were reasons other than football ability, I can’t believe he would choose to leave, due to a lack of opportunities with Levein about introduce a younger squad approach. I have to think there was some behavioural disagreement, perhaps he wasn’t pulling his weight or skiving off whatever.
Ric Flair Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 I think he might well be wanting to move back home or abroad to another club. I know that his dad is quite pushy about his son's football and if he lnew he'd been out getting leathered all the time then he might well have given Tomi abit of a shoeing. If you think about it, he's a young lad who's come to this country earning little money and not seen any signs of getting some first team action. He's still highly regarded abroad and perhaps he's looking to get a club back in Finland or another country. Seems odd he's gone just as Levein has arrived, perhaps Levein might get him back.
Macca4lcfc Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 1 striker out the club wos young, now only a few more to go before i make the first team.....................
Anish Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 Bit of a strange decision in my eyes. Petrescu may well have got a chance under Levein but he decides to leave - we'll see how far he goes but I'm still disappointed. Another 'talent' that has left us.

Have a word and get some info, please mate. I am really gutted that Tomi has gone, is he all he's carcked up to be? You must know mate?
Scarby Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 To be fair the club wouldnt have let him go like this if he was all he was cracked up to be! and lets be relistic if it wasnt for championship manager he wouldnt have all this pressure and dissappointment. I just hope the club know what they are doing

Alot of big clubs were after him and we got him because of Alan Hill. Now I have heard rumours recently that Petrescu hasn't been showing the potential he has, possibly for various reasons. It says it was a mutual decision and by that it could be that Petrescu wanted to leave and the club reluctantly have let him go. We don't know and it would be good to find out, but it will only turn out to be a bad decision if Petrescu goes on to fulfill the potential he certainly has.

It is the clubs job to look after young talent
King Kyle lcfc Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 i dont think you can still blame micky for this as petrescu has made this desicion on his own and will surely have a good reason for doing so he'll probably ply his trade in lower division or back home and get some first team football and be a better player because of it Good luck Tomi Petrescu
gloucesterfox Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 Looks like he is going to Uni. Official site says it is for educational interests
Teeno Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 No big lose, struggled to get in reserve line up.
Mark Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 Ridiculous. Why cant we show some interest in youth for once, then maybe this wouldnt happen. Micky takes alot of the blame for this. Until he arrived Tomi had so much potential. I still believe he still does. He scored 4 goals in a game for Finland U-19's a few weeks ago, and he scored in his last reserve game. Its not like he hasnt been scoring. Leicester City - JOKE.

As far back as almost a year ago Dave Bassett was quoted as saying that following his great progress, he'd levelled out and needed to work hard at his game. His 4 goals for Finland were in a game against Albania where the result was 7-1.
