syston_fox Posted 15 May 2006 Posted 15 May 2006 They are ruining my life. Ive got one tomorrow that 70% of people failed last year. Ive studied pretty hard for it but cannot grasp it at all and am resigned to the fact that im going to fail..... which possibly means goodbye to uni! Never felt so stressed before in my life!
Benji Posted 15 May 2006 Posted 15 May 2006 i can only sympathise first one next monday, then a week or so off, then 2 solid weeks of 8 exams, fail and then no university - been out drinking once in the past 2/3 months oh well all be over soon then a huge summer youngsters love pressure all the best anyway!
Knighton Matt Posted 15 May 2006 Posted 15 May 2006 From footballrumours.com Usher and Nelly Furtado getting it on. (Source - Leicester City Messageboard). Seriously though - just imagine that collaboration. It'd be whiney yet hip, tuneless yet hop and successful yet sh ite. I had 6 hours of tests today in preparation for a couple of exams In June. My wrist is now throbbing (but that's another story )

syston_fox Posted 15 May 2006 Author Posted 15 May 2006 i can only sympathise first one next monday, then a week or so off, then 2 solid weeks of 8 exams, and like you this is it, fail and then no university - been out drinking once in the past 2/3 months oh well all be over soon then a huge summer youngsters love pressure all the best anyway! The worst thing is that feeling that you're gonna let people down if you fail. I seriously cannot do this exam though, doesnt help that we've had four lecturers for the subject: 1st lecturer) Just made us write stuff down from an overhead projector 2nd) Was NOT a public speaker - spent the whole time mumbling and saying "Erm.....erm....." 3rd) Had such a high pitched voice that you couldnt take her seriously. Was a decent lecturer though. 4th) Complete dick head. He wrote some lecture notes, printed them off into a book and then sold them in the university book shop for £16.95. Complete arse! Plus out of his 5 lectures, he was on strike for one and missed another coz he couldnt find the room!
Knighton Matt Posted 15 May 2006 Posted 15 May 2006 You hard to sort out Usher's bone of contention because Nelly already had a mouthful of Knighton's finest? You're not far wrong. I refer you to my signature - just substitute the word woman for Knighton Matt. Poor Usher didn;t know what hit him and to be fair to the lad there was a large amount of carving involved. Not your average slice and dice by any staretch of the imagination.
Milky Posted 15 May 2006 Posted 15 May 2006 wow, sounds pretty heavy stuff. i've got 6 exams in the next couple of weeks but it's only my first year and if i fail i can just retake them so perhaps i shouldn't be so up tight, i've got it easy i suppose. how come if you fail it's a case of bye bye uni? what's the deal?

Can we do the carving/craving wordplay thing again? It worked so well last time... I'm really building up the layers here, bringing in other threads. My aim is to make this complete inaccessible to the newcomer or anyone who hasn't been diligent in keeping up to date with our most recent bouts of japery and jiggery-pokery. Wankers.

I like the plan. Some poeple have a lot of catching up to do in the morning. I hope they don't choke on their croissants at some of the more outlandish theme's tonight, namely Steward's cock, Furtado's gag piece and a f**king big plate.

I dunno if its the same for all uni's but with mine, the modules are assigned credits on their importance. (either 30 credits or 15) Ive got 3, 30 credit modules and 4, 15 credit modules. The thing is though, you're allowed 30 credits worth of retakes per year so you can fail one of the big exams, or 2 of the smaller ones. Fail more than the 30 credits and you're buggered. The one tomorrow is worth 30 credits.... and i did one two weeks ago which im not sure I did enough to pass...... so as you can imagine, its pretty depressing! Not sure where I go from hear if I fail the year

I admire your persistence, commend your frankness and envy your dedication. Best of luck to ALL of you who have exams soon. I know it can be a stressful period. Do your best and try not to let it all get to you.
Daggers Posted 15 May 2006 Posted 15 May 2006 Plus out of his 5 lectures, he was on strike for one and missed another coz he couldnt find the room! Ahh...but they'll be working much harder if they get their pay rise. It's all because they're demotivated you see. I looked it up but I could not find where in the dictionary demotivated means - useless tosser that can't teach to save life and would be crap at anything in the real world. But it must be there somewhere. My exams start Wednesday and I am aiming for mid-table mediocrity.
Nationwider Posted 15 May 2006 Posted 15 May 2006 The worst thing is that feeling that you're gonna let people down if you fail. As long as you've put the hard yakka in, you'll not have let yourself down - and that's possibly the most important thing. If the exam's a bitch, it will be the same for everyone. It sounds like you're pretty focused. Take a deep breath, read all the instructions at the start, and good luck!
Alexikokopops Posted 15 May 2006 Posted 15 May 2006 starting from 2 weeks on Satdee I have 9 exams in 9 days. Bitched on. I'm going to fail 2 of those at least. Oh dear.
Steven Posted 16 May 2006 Posted 16 May 2006 Remember lads and lasses, if you have done the work, then exams should be fairly easy.
C-man Posted 16 May 2006 Posted 16 May 2006 I'm sort of on exam leave now for GCSEs. It is kinda weird though because we have to go to lessons until our exam in that lesson has passed. For example, i have to attend all my maths lessons until my last maths exam (June 28th). I have 15 exams from now till June 28th, but in the middle i have 2 weeks where i have 10 exams! I wish the best of luck to everyone else taking exams this summer
Guest Posted 16 May 2006 Posted 16 May 2006 Take a deep breath, read all the instructions at the start I did, and that's where I have failed. Discuss? WTF?
Wils Posted 16 May 2006 Posted 16 May 2006 The instructions dont really help you they just say dont write outside teh boxes and rubbish like that. exams should be banned
Random Burglar Posted 16 May 2006 Posted 16 May 2006 Iv got a law exam later on today...its only for an hour and is not the most importantnt one i will be taking but it is the one i am struggling most with. Iv got my final one of my 2nd year at uni next wednesday and then its 4 months to chill before my final year!

Alexikokopops Posted 16 May 2006 Posted 16 May 2006 Remember lads and lasses, if you have done the work, then exams should be fairly easy. You try doing Mathematical Statistics B and Mathematics Of Random Events then
Nationwider Posted 16 May 2006 Posted 16 May 2006 I did, and that's where I have failed. Discuss? WTF? Hmm. I'm having a bad GC day today. My "read the instructions" experience stems from failing to read "choose any 3 from 8 questions" in an exam many years ago, and attempting to write 8 essays in 3 hrs. I've got an exam in 10 weeks, and it's already shaping up to be a seismic bitch of evilness.

Please don't be sad, I was not having a pop at you, just the exam I have failed. It is quite funny, but having sat a two hour exam, and waiting for my paper to be taken from me, it emerged that 4 people had taken the wrong paper. Now that's not reading instructions.
