Matt Posted 11 July 2004 Posted 11 July 2004 Again from News Of The World LEICESTER are poised to complete the £500,000 signing of David Connolly from West Ham this week. Republic of Ireland star Connolly, 27, was expected to join Sunderland - but Foxes boss Micky Adams moved in with and 11th-hour bid.

Scow Posted 11 July 2004 Posted 11 July 2004 Apparently to be completed by Wednesday/Thursday next week - Really hope this is true.
Mark Posted 11 July 2004 Posted 11 July 2004 Dublin and Connolly wouldnt be a bad partnership. It does leave me wondering though, who's 3rd choice? And if its Benjamin or Morris wheres it leave Wright? He's better than them 2 for sure but whether Micky will see sense or not is another matter.
Ricey Posted 11 July 2004 Posted 11 July 2004 I really hope this is true, I'm confident we will get him. That would leave us with a Dublin/Connelly partnership with Scowcroft (if he stays), Wright and Morris as back up. Looks good to me!
Hullfox Posted 11 July 2004 Posted 11 July 2004 Wright seems to be a bit of an enigma though, he didn't really bang em in at Brentford last year did he? I would still like to see him given a chance though so we can make our own minds up.
Mark Posted 11 July 2004 Posted 11 July 2004 Dont judge him on last season! He'll be good for us this season, depending on how much he's used.
Teeno Posted 11 July 2004 Posted 11 July 2004 Connolly will be a great player for us. Wright will get his fair share aswell, but Connolly and Dublin will be a good partnership.

Steven Posted 11 July 2004 Posted 11 July 2004 After reading the comments of the West Ham fans I might have to change my tune over Connolly.

Matt Posted 12 January 2005 Author Posted 12 January 2005 Sorry for bringing this back upto the top, I'm looking for a poll I did before the start of the season, asking where we would end up and I came across his thread..., how wrong could we be not about Connolly because although his job is tto score goals (which he isn't doing) we do need him as a player but how wrong could we be with our partnerships? I especially love the "35 goal partnership" quote I picked out!

Steven Posted 12 January 2005 Posted 12 January 2005 Sadly my initial reservations proved correct. <_<
Craig Posted 13 January 2005 Posted 13 January 2005 Connolly is class, i'm still 100% glad he's here, no other striker would have done much better.
