loz Posted 27 May 2006 Posted 27 May 2006 Playing like they did today its not a surprise that tigers haven't won anything for ages.
Chairman of the Bored Posted 28 May 2006 Posted 28 May 2006 Once again, I don't give a monkeys. Rugby is a crap game played by blokes who couldn't get in their school football teams.
Luke_Leicester_Lad Posted 28 May 2006 Posted 28 May 2006 Once again, I don't give a monkeys. Rugby is a crap game played by blokes who couldn't get in their school football teams. Really?
Milky Posted 28 May 2006 Posted 28 May 2006 Once again, I don't give a monkeys. Rugby is a crap game played by blokes who couldn't get in their school football teams. that's bollocks, to be a decent player in the backs you require pace, a good brain and a decent level of footballing skills. the forwards are the shit footballers maybe.
Finnegan Posted 28 May 2006 Posted 28 May 2006 Try telling Neil Back or Martin Johnson they've not got a good rugby brain. I was more upset to see us bungle it against Wasps in the Powergen, obviously, but I am pretty gutted for the Tigers. However, at the same time, I'd be a hypocrite if I said Sale shouldn't win the trophy. I'm a firm believer in winning the league means winning the league, Tigers were robbed last yer.
Matt Posted 28 May 2006 Posted 28 May 2006 Once again, I don't give a monkeys. Rugby is a crap game played by blokes who couldn't get in their school football teams. I'd like to see you say that to there face.
Phube Posted 28 May 2006 Posted 28 May 2006 Awful today bottled it big time again. 4 years without a trophy for supposedly England's premier rugby team... Recently been a big source of dissapointment to someone who will watch them when they're in a big game!! (On television obviously!!)
Hitesh Posted 28 May 2006 Posted 28 May 2006 I'd like to see you say that to there face. That would be worth paying for! It was a poor game from the tigers, but having said that, it was Sale that played well and deserved it!
Chairman of the Bored Posted 28 May 2006 Posted 28 May 2006 I'd like to see you say that to there face. I'd be happy to, mate.
Hitesh Posted 29 May 2006 Posted 29 May 2006 I heard today that the Tigers are going to Asia for a commercial tour! Not sure how true this is but huh!!!???!!!
Ultra Posted 29 May 2006 Posted 29 May 2006 I heard today that the Tigers are going to Asia for a commercial tour! Not sure how true this is but huh!!!???!!! Only the commercial staff - NOT the players.. From the Leicester Mercury... Leicester Tigers will create history next month when they make a "pioneering" trip to China.England's biggest rugby club will be the first to receive official backing from both the British and Chinese governments for a visit they hope will be mutually beneficial. Tigers are sending a four-man delegation headed by chief executive Peter Wheeler, and including England World Cup-winning captain Martin Johnson, Rory Underwood and Sir Digby Jones, who will soon join the board. During the visit, from June 17 to 25, they will visit Beijing and Shanghai with the aim of passing on their rugby expertise, while improving Tigers' profile in the world's fastest-growing economy. Wheeler said: "It's a pioneering expedition and we are looking at it with an open mind. "We have been doing quite a lot of work around the world and know what is involved. "We know you don't just fly into a place and things happen. We have done a lot of groundwork with both governments and the Chinese Union. "We are looking forward to it and there appears to be quite a buzz over there." Leicester have the blessing of both governments. "Both have lent their support," said Wheeler. "We are doing it officially. I wrote to (culture secretary) Tessa Jowell and she sent a letter of support. Not just to us but the Chinese government as well. "We will be the first professional club to go to China backed by both governments." Leicester already boast a connection through China's national team captain Johnny Zhang, who spent some time at Welford Road recently. And they hope this visit will make it stronger. They will sign a memorandum of partnership and understanding, give a demonstration of TAG rugby and offer to help the national team. Tigers admit the visit is not totally philanthropic and that they might benefit from any opportunities that arise. Wheeler said: "Following on from work we did in places like Hong Kong and Japan, we thought it would be interesting to see what is happening in China. "We are looking to see if the expertise we have built up over the last 10 years of professional rugby can be helpful to the Chinese in developing the sport. "In terms of the Tigers name and rugby, we would want to develop our profile. Opportunities may arise for us. If not, we will go back and do something in the future. We are looking at it on a long-term basis" However, the article doesn't quite why the Chinese should want to link up with a bunch of serial bottlers...
Chairman of the Bored Posted 29 May 2006 Posted 29 May 2006 Even Johnno? Well, I'm six foot four and 17 stones so he might think twice about having a pop. I'm sure he'd agree with me, however, as my powers of persuasion are second to none.
Ajax Treesdown Posted 29 May 2006 Posted 29 May 2006 Sale well deserved to win title. Tigers are awful at times.
Babylon Posted 29 May 2006 Posted 29 May 2006 Sale well deserved to win title. Tigers are awful at times. Isn't every team at some point of a season. They finished 2nd this year and top last year... hardly a crisis.
Ultra Posted 29 May 2006 Posted 29 May 2006 Well, I'm six foot four and 17 stones so he might think twice about having a pop. I'm sure he'd agree with me, however, as my powers of persuasion are second to none. As you'd still be conceding height, weight and years to him, I wouldn't fancy your chances. And by the way, he apparently used to be a fairly decent exponent of the round-ball game in his youth...
