Libertine Posted 11 June 2006 Posted 11 June 2006 Any of you hip 'n' happening young people wanna tell me what it means??? It means the same as words such as 'owned'. People also, on the internet, say 'pwned'.
Suffolk_fox Posted 11 June 2006 Posted 11 June 2006 Owned?? As in he is now his property? I still don't understand. Is it me? Is it my age? Do people still breakdance? When are Wham! next releasing a single??
Libertine Posted 11 June 2006 Posted 11 June 2006 From the UrbanDictionary.com... It basically means "to own" or to be dominated by an opponent or situation, especially by some god-like or computer-like force. "Man, I rock at my job, but I still got a bad evaluation. I was pwned." OR "That team totally pwned us." From wikipedia: Owned, often typed as own3d, pwned or pwn3d, is an internet slang word used commonly in gaming circles to acknowledge a form of superiority through the downfall of another group, be it another gaming clan, or a single user. This can be in the context of winning an online game, a debate on a forum, or attaining a successful hacking, as well as the signature to a rebuttal, such as "You got 0wned!" to announce the defeat of another user on the internet in the form of a debate or flame war. It signifies defeat and humiliation, often through the dominance or superiority of another party. For example, a player who repeatedly beats his opponent in online computer games, may claim he has "owned" him. There are military examples of similar sentiments being expressed by a victorious party.
Bert Posted 11 June 2006 Author Posted 11 June 2006 Owned?? As in he is now his property? I still don't understand. Is it me? Is it my age? Do people still breakdance? When are Wham! next releasing a single?? If you still don't know it's just a way to say they've been stitched up. (Do you know what that is?? )
Suffolk_fox Posted 11 June 2006 Posted 11 June 2006 , yeah I get the gist of what it means now, but MURK'D? Would love to know the origin... Or maybe I have been in this hospital for too long!
Ric Flair Posted 12 June 2006 Posted 12 June 2006 Anyone know if this is to be repeated again? Perhaps on ITV2, 3 or 4?????
Fez of Mahrez Posted 12 June 2006 Posted 12 June 2006 Owned?? As in he is now his property? I still don't understand. Is it me? Is it my age? Do people still breakdance? When are Wham! next releasing a single?? I feel like that sometimes and I'm only 21.
Daggers Posted 12 June 2006 Posted 12 June 2006 Owned?? As in he is now his property? I still don't understand. Is it me? Is it my age? Do people still breakdance? When are Wham! next releasing a single?? Maybe he has to buy him a Mercedes? From what I can gather football players are much better paid than in my day. If anyone knows the answer to your Wham question then they may be able to help me as I am waiting for the next concert tour by Mud. I do like them and have all of their fan rosettes. Shawaddywaddy are rubbish. Anyone know if this is to be repeated again? Perhaps on ITV2, 3 or 4????? You seem to be confused: it is BBC1, BBC2, ITV and Channel 4. If you tune your four station pushbuttons to these television channels in order then that may help in remembering which station is which. Personally, I do not understand why I buy my licence as light entertainment seems to soley consist of rude young people using bad language and simulating acts that should only be performed by married couples of the opposite sex that share a bedroom with two single beds. Whatever has happened to that nice young Raymond Baxter?
Tommeh Posted 12 June 2006 Posted 12 June 2006 Liked it so much i just watched it again on ITV2 and taped it. How sad?

Louise Posted 12 June 2006 Posted 12 June 2006 Ah, I knew it wouldn't take long... Neville http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLpxccG7Pmw Wright-Phillips http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMXz_OKGdAs Beckham http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvWpkLwiQNc ETA: The Beckham one ends with clips of all the others ones, just warning those who don't want anything ruined (apparently the Rooney one will be uploaded soon?).

Whatever has happened to that nice young Raymond Baxter? I think you seem confused. It was originally shown on ITV. So therefore there is a good chance that it would/will be repeated on one of ITV's many other digital channels such as ITV2, 3 & 4. Perhaps I should have put the ITV before every number

Jordan Posted 14 June 2006 Posted 14 June 2006 Looks like Becks got it the worst but the Rooney on was the most creative. Rio's not quite Aston Kutcher but it was alright.
