It makes me laugh time and time again when he gets slated and written off, yet he bounces back with match winning displays. He's a big match player, probably the biggest we have in our team and he'll do it again when needed.

I agree, we will see the benifit of playing Owen in these games when we get to the knockout stages, he will start scoring for fun.
Ricey Posted 12 June 2006 Posted 12 June 2006 I don't think Owen was that bad on Saturday considering the shoddy performance of the rest of the team, he got into some decent positions and at times looked lively.

Owen is a big match player, out of all the players in our squad he has the best performances in big game matches on his CV. He's done it countless times, some of them when he's been massively out of form. He's similar to Ronaldo in this trait, he will provail.
