Regular prices

As far as prices are concerned, UEFA says that prices will be kept at levels that ensure that regular football fans will be able to attend the matches in Austria and Switzerland.

Right, that is that sorted then - who's coming?!

I was thinking about doing it all official-like and joining the supporters club to apply for tickets ... but then reckoned the best crack is to be had just going to a city and joining the party rather than attending awful England games.

That summer wil mark my last as a free man as well before the family demands I return to the world of work in order to provide more trampolines for them [or whatever it is that families will be craving by then].

Tickets will be a nightmare, all the stadiums are roughly 25-30k capacities.

I will wait for South Africa, stadiums ares at 95,000, 60,000, 50,000 etc!

...but they are guaranteeing 75% of tickets going to the participating football associations ~ which is a hell of a lot better than Germany.

How much of that 75% is going to the official partners and sponsors of the different Football Associations involved?

EURO ticketing to put fans first

says the official site for Euro 08

Some 75 per cent of the tickets for the UEFA EURO 2008â„¢ final round in Austria and Switzerland will be sold to supporters at "affordable prices". They will go on sale next spring, with exact dates to be announced later this year, and will be exclusively offered through www.euro2008.com. In this interview, Euro 2008 SA ticketing manager Jos De Kruif gives the lowdown on ticketing arrangements for the final round.

uefa.com: What is the percentage of tickets going on sale to supporters and what percentage will go to commercial areas?

De Kruif: A limited number, approximately 15 per cent of all tickets, will be reserved for our official commercial partners who will use a big proportion of these tickets for fan promotions. In addition, some reservations will be made for media representatives and VIPs - but the rest of the tickets will be sold directly to supporters in the participating countries and in the rest of the world. All in all, we can say that close to 75 per cent of the tickets will be sold to fans by the participating national associations and through Euro 2008 SA via www.euro2008.com.

I'd say it is the most positive step in ticketing tournaments for a very long time ~ if they follow through on their promise.
