Janx Posted 19 July 2006 Posted 19 July 2006 How many of you actually get paid during the hours of light... I mean by an employer to do a job other than spending hour after hour on here? Merely for Socio-anthropological debate?

Ultra Posted 19 July 2006 Posted 19 July 2006 I travel between offices, and log on at each one. Soon I'll have a blackberry so I can post even more. Don't say you haven't been warned!

Trust me... DONT! Just ditched mine, was giving me endless hours of extra work... constant bleeping for every spam and crappy email... you cannot switch off and you feel duty bound to deal with every email as it comes through hence you add to your working week by about 12 hours... The Doc told me it was time to say goodbye to my crackberry habit or check into the Heartattack Hotel!
Dellyjo Posted 19 July 2006 Posted 19 July 2006 I work during the day but tend to come on first thing before I start, lunchtimes & occasionaly when I'm suppose to be working & its quiet - like now apart from that it tends to be mainly evenings & weekends when I've escaped from this place.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 19 July 2006 Posted 19 July 2006 Oh great, another thread that's going to be turned into "where do you work, you boring office monkeys"

Janx Posted 19 July 2006 Author Posted 19 July 2006 Oh great, another thread that's going to be turned into "where do you work, you boring office monkeys" You cheeky feck... if you read it, I was asking the Mods and Admin types, who seem to be "In" most of the time.... thereby, how do they subsidise their own existence or are they, in fact, like many I can only assume ... taking the total piss out of their employers and doing fu- ck all when they should be working.. I for one am on a sort of sabbatical at the moment, hence my ability to be here, and I am self employed which makes it my own silly fault if I make no dosh... So whats your excuse?

Thracian Posted 19 July 2006 Posted 19 July 2006 I'm picking up again after my wife's life-saving operation and I've kept supporting the forum because it really was the most welcome and valuable therapy during the most trying months. It has also helped make being a fan far more interesting because the collective contributionof posters is immense and has added infinitely to my overall enjoyment of watching all levels of Leicester City football. I've nothing whatsoever against other sites. But even when I was offered the chance to edit my own City site I still felt this was my "home" team and nothing seems likely to change that. Sincere thanks to all of you.

It's good to see this forum being more then just about footy, it's about people aswell!!!

davieG Posted 19 July 2006 Posted 19 July 2006 I work part-time if it's any of your business and no way could I log on at work, people have been disciplined for far less. This makes things a bit tight money wise so any contributions are welcomed, or is that going off topic

Janx Posted 19 July 2006 Author Posted 19 July 2006 But if folk want to contact you THAT urgently, surely they can just ring you up? er yeah thats the point! THey can, but some sneaky feckers like to email work and bad news etc cos they havent got the bottle to ring, and they tend to do it on an evening for many reasons like... "I didnt want to disturb you by ringing" ..and International customers, might NOT ring you.. anyway.. DONT HAVE ONE.. they are BAd!

Manwell Pablo Posted 19 July 2006 Posted 19 July 2006 I now feel cheated when I post in 'my own' time as I'm not being paid to do so. Post of the year! If my employers did'nt take the piss out of me I wouldn't have to do it back.
Janx Posted 19 July 2006 Author Posted 19 July 2006 Post of the year! If my employers did'nt take the piss out of me I wouldn't have to do it back. In what way do they do that, by paying you? If you dont like the job and conditions, you have options..? Just thought I would stir it up a little
Manwell Pablo Posted 19 July 2006 Posted 19 July 2006 In what way do they do that, by paying you? If you dont like the job and conditions, you have options..? Just thought I would stir it up a little They pay me less then my contract states. They get round it because there is a dodgy loop hole They haven't deliverd the right training. Certain senior members of staff will admit this. They presume I know things I dont, things I would know... if I had had the above. I get the blaime on regular occasions for other peoples **** ups. They haven't played to my strengths, which they said they would in the interview. In fact the just give me very little to do, which is why I end up on here. I am currently looking for alternate employment so its not like im not doing anything about it

Nationwider Posted 19 July 2006 Posted 19 July 2006 I work full time (no web access as we're neanderthals), but can work from home a bit. I'm also studying at the moment, so I usually gravitate to the interweb every half hour or so. Following on from Thracian's post, I found this site accidentally and it's pretty indispensible to a Foxile like myself. The site's inner sect (admin) do a great job of keeping things running smoothly. Aside from the LCFC stuff and verbal frotting that goes on in General Chat, I love the puzzles, real life stories and the great recipes. Not bad for 55p.
