dandannieldanok Posted 3 August 2006 Posted 3 August 2006 I'm eating my hat as I type - MON is at Villa! I have mixed feelings about this. I want him to do well but also I would like to see Villa fail miserably. What a quandry?
Daggers Posted 3 August 2006 Posted 3 August 2006 I have mixed feelings about this. I want him to do well but also I would like to see Villa fail miserably. What a quandry? I'd like him to do really well, he's a great bloke and an outstanding manager ~ all the best to him. As for Villa, as the Midlands only representative in the top flight I hope they do well and hold their own...and stuff all of the clubs that are considering the season a forgone conclusion already!
Matt Posted 3 August 2006 Posted 3 August 2006 I'm eating my hat as I type - MON is at Villa! Where you heard this? Nothing on the Villa site, nothing on newsnow.co.uk...
dandannieldanok Posted 3 August 2006 Posted 3 August 2006 Where you heard this? Nothing on the Villa site, nothing on newsnow.co.uk... 5 live radio
Daggers Posted 3 August 2006 Posted 3 August 2006 It's official. MON is dotting i's and crossing t's tomorrow, and then being presented to the media. It is official, like dandannieldanok said ~ FiveLive
Matt Posted 3 August 2006 Posted 3 August 2006 Well he always will be anyway - Legend for Leicester/Possibly Celtic although its a Micky mouse league that made Craig Levein look resonably good... And I say this feeling quite sad and horrible for saying it but I hope he fails badly fall on his arse and gets Villa relegated. I ALWAYS want Villa to be relegated every season anyway, but MON why? I havn't wanted Villa to relegated as much as I do now... I can deal with people leaving LCFC and joining other clubs, MON did break my heart when he went Celtic but I wouldn't say I hated him for doing it, Now he has joined a local club who I hate with a passion i'm annoyed, Dickov he lied, Players leaving in general without no fuss (i.e - lieing or joining local clubs I hate) annoys me. VILLA FOR RELEGATION...PLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEASE!

Shipman Out Posted 4 August 2006 Posted 4 August 2006 The Brummie parkies are painting a new car parking space for a Mr Martin O'Neil, the factory girls a sewing MON on the training kit, the legend is returning to England to take the job he has always wanted...Aston Villa! "sleeping giant" big club with something to proof (why not Leicester!) It is good to see him back shame it's at Villa. I wouldnt feel quite as gutted if it was a Man Utd or Newcastle(ideal club) This is a stepping stone to a Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea But as MON sits down in his new office over looking the M6 and spaghetti junction, he should really be over looking spaghetti restaurants in Soho Square with a ENGLAND TEAM MANAGER sign on his desk. The FA are morons.
Master Fox Posted 4 August 2006 Posted 4 August 2006 Martin O'Neill seems almost certain to be named as Aston Villa's new manager. It's a shame he's going to crap place like Villa. Link
Janx Posted 4 August 2006 Posted 4 August 2006 Martin O'Neill seems almost certain to be named as Aston Villa's new manager. It's a shame he's going to crap place like Villa. Link why do they never mention Naarrrch in his CV?
Master Fox Posted 4 August 2006 Posted 4 August 2006 why do they never mention Naarrrch in his CV? I presume it’s because he wasn't there very long.
davieG Posted 4 August 2006 Posted 4 August 2006 why do they never mention Naarrrch in his CV? One I read they didn't even mention Leicester, they talked about his time at Wycombe mentioned his League Cup wins with us but didn't actual say Leicester just that he'd won them and then talked about his time at Celtic. Everyone hates us, we're persona non grata!!
lookwhaticando Posted 4 August 2006 Posted 4 August 2006 Press Conference at 6:30pm today, MON looks set to be the new manager. To be honest that ****s me right off. I cannot stand Villa. I was hoping O'Leary was kept on and sacked mid-season after a dreadful run of results. I hate to see Villa do well, they've been wank for years - and that's the way I like it. Now they've got MON in, they might actually have a decent season. Martin, you're a top bloke, a legend, but I'd rather enjoy it if Villa failed miserably this season.* In light of this revalation, I'm beginning to think I'd have preferred him at Blunderland * then perhaps you could return to the lower leagues and rebuild your reputation. A penniless club in the Championship would be ideal ;)
Phube Posted 4 August 2006 Posted 4 August 2006 Why, MON, Why!!!!!??? Surley even the Newcastle job was better!!! Or wait until Sir Alec has upset ALL of his best player and is sacked!! But Villa????
Master Fox Posted 4 August 2006 Posted 4 August 2006 Why, MON, Why!!!!!??? Surley even the Newcastle job was better!!! Or wait until Sir Alec has upset ALL of his best player and is sacked!! But Villa???? It hurts i know Phubes, just try and stomach it! Let's hope we can go up and then give them a good smack!
Tommeh Posted 4 August 2006 Posted 4 August 2006 I had Villa down for relegation, can't see it now with him in charge
NFFC Chris Posted 4 August 2006 Posted 4 August 2006 Good appointment for Villa, real optimism for Villa fans now.Villa is a big step up from Leicester,Villa are a big club but just have a shoddy owner.Though O'Neil may fall flat on his face as the Villa fans will be expecting miracles due to his repuatation.
Alexikokopops Posted 4 August 2006 Posted 4 August 2006 Why, MON, Why!!!!!??? Surley even the Newcastle job was better!!! Or wait until Sir Alec has upset ALL of his best player and is sacked!! But Villa???? It's ALEX, with an X. You don't understand how annoyed I used to get when people called me Alec instead of Alex.
Head Honcho Posted 4 August 2006 Posted 4 August 2006 Falls flat on his face at Villa? I certainly do! Two teams I've disliked since I was a nipper, Celtic and Villa ..............and can someone tell me. Is his wife ok now?
