O'Neill for Villa

Even though I don't particularly like Villa, I want him to do well because I love MON and could never wish anything bad against him. I just hope he one day returns here to lead us on once again. Or that we can get to the stage where we're as/more successful than we were with O'Neill and we can just look back at his era with great pride but accept that it can stay in the past. Unfortunately that seems quite a long way off right now.

Even though I'm glad to see him back in football, I am disappointed he went to Villa, but really just because it's not us he's with anymore.

I'd love to see O'Neill take a non top-4 side and really mix it with the big boys.

Whilst I'm no lover of the Villa, he could have gone to far worse sides - I hope he gets the money and the time to do the business.

I'm gutted especailly as they are one of our midland rivals, added to the fact that most Villa fans just gloat and that is all they ever do makes it worse.

Good luck to Sir Mon though.

I know I should have moved on

Correct. MON's been an ex for the last SIX years. Get over it.

Villa are in a different league to us so how they do is ultimately irrelevant.

Let's get behind the current FOXES team and manager instead of endlessly wallowing in the past.

i will be interested to see how he goes.

he may find it harder to get villa up in europe though as i reckon footballs changed since he last managed in the premier league.

saying that he proved he can do wonders at any level so villa will probebly be league champions in 2 years!!!

How you can say this is beyond me!! MON was a legend for this club always gave everything and left to better his careerr and even though im gutted about this, NEVER, ever would i hope this happens to him.

MON is a legend and always will be, I will always have a little soft spot for him, however (And I may sound like i'm contradicting myself here) when he left for Celtic he broke my heart, Obviously I couldn't blame him for leaving, but at the same time I hated him for doing it, I hate Celtic, over time I got over it and he regained my respect and admiration, This time he's done it again, I hate Villa, and I hate Villa more than I do Derby/Forest/Cov, I have no major reason, Villa are just a team I cannot stand, never have. And because of this he has lost my respect again...I know he probably couldn't give to shits that he's lost my respect. He will never lose the respect and admiration of what he did at Leicester but from now on hope he's a failure, Nearly 2 years out of football, 6 years out of the Premiership, Coming from a Micky Mouse league...

Things I can't understand;

- If he wanted to get back into football why Villa? He had his chances for Newcastle, England, Charlton, Sunderland, Leicester (Fair enough doubt he'd come back here and fair enough but he had the chance), Forest, Derby...And to be fair i'd be a little gutted if he did join Derby or Forest but i'd be far less gutted than I am right now, Obviously MON had his reason for turning those teams down and had his reason for joining Villa but just can't understand them personally.

- Why would someone like him want to be controled by Ellis? Ellis may be out soon, but Ellis is a very stubburd old man, and TBH can't see him being shifted for the moment.

- The reason he left Leicester, apart from the reason Celtic came in for him was that the Leicester board would give him no money, Well if Ellis is there for abit longer Ellis is hardly flash with the cash is he?

Just a few things I can't understand...

I ALWAYS (Every season without fail) want Villa to be relegated, but I have never wanted Villa relegated as much as I do now!

...The annoying thing is i've just had to spend the evening with a Villa fan.

Villa - 4/1 for relegation...worth £2 or £3 just out of spite? Maybe more?

-Before anyone starts with "ah your jealous" - Yes I am, but I can deal with players/manager leaving its when players/managers leave but they lie about it, and it when they and former players/managers (Legends at that) move to teams you hate, I know there not gonna please everyone and TBH they don't care, and neither would I, but as a fan its horrible, and especially when there Legends - It leaves abit of a bitter taste in your mouth.

Its hard calling someone thats at a club you hate a legend, even though they clearly are legends...

Best of luck to MON - should be the first manager to see Doug Ellis go.

One fear - He still knows the club well & might be tempted with our up & comings, Stearman, Fryatt etc.

Now that would annoy me.

That would be the final straw... :pinch:

Lost 1st game 2-1

Don't matter none in Aston...local rag quotes the ticket office as saying "We haven't seen anything like this since Beatlemania"

I never knew that the Fab 4 played at the Villa, but there you go. Season ticket barmy here I tell you, season ticket barmy!
