syston_fox Posted 12 August 2006 Posted 12 August 2006 aye phube you have a point. he did slip a little. if he'd gone down do you think it would have been a peno as he appeard to grab fryatts leg? but im not sure what would have been given. Wonder if that had anything to do with the fact they water the pitch at half time? Must make it a bit slippier out there!
MONreborn Posted 12 August 2006 Posted 12 August 2006 I just got back, will give a detailed report later in the evening. A fantastic performance from start to finish: * We defended free kicks and set pieces well *played a REAL 4-4-2 Formation WITH wingers *Tiatto was one of our best players *Low, with his height, looks a real good prsoepct for us. * Porter did well and shows he can hack it at this level *We looked sound defensively * Henderson has learned to Kick * Fryatt is BACK *Johnson was commanding in midfield *We created enough chances to win three games *we looked danderous at set peices!!!!! and scored from one too. * The team spirit is great, all the players went to celebrate with Huuuume and the subs also looked like they had a great team spirit. * Stowell had a punch up with Magilton. LAVVVV IT!!!!! * We WON
Phube Posted 12 August 2006 Posted 12 August 2006 You missed the fact the both lino's were completely inept!!
syston_fox Posted 12 August 2006 Posted 12 August 2006 Thing is that we cannot get to excited by this performance. We made that mistake after the 4-2 win against Sheff Utd last season. Although today was quality and a great performance, the real test is whether we can carry it on in the next game against Coventry!
Bert Posted 12 August 2006 Posted 12 August 2006 The good thing about today was and probably the main thing - is that we had options all over the place, not just any option though, effective options.

Leicester Lass Posted 12 August 2006 Posted 12 August 2006 Was it a good atmosphere at the Walkers? Yes it was pretty good today, even though there was only 18000 of us there
lcfc_jme Posted 12 August 2006 Posted 12 August 2006 Yes it was pretty good today, even though there was only 18000 of us there If we manage to give a positive performance on friday and get a result, it will only be a matter of time before the crowds start to pick up
Ricey Posted 12 August 2006 Posted 12 August 2006 You missed the fact the both lino's were completely inept!! They weren't, Fryatt was offside every time in the first half. Delighted with today though, it felt so good to watch good football along with a 3 goals wo win the game. Every played fantastic except Hammond who ran around a lot but then would stand still and ball watch, then when he had to touch the ball it all went wrong. The defence were solid and Kenton attacked well, Low was great down the right while Hughes and Johnson did enough and Fryatt was superb. Ipswich were poor but we did to a certain degree make them look that way.

lcfc_jme Posted 12 August 2006 Posted 12 August 2006 How many times did the ball go out it it wasn't given? Quite a few.. Can somebody tell me how the linesman could see something to disallow Fryatts "goal" in the second half but he couldn't see many other f**king things in the whole game? I.e people wrestling city players at throw-ins, balls crossing the lines etc etc

Ipswich were shite today but not one player had a bad game, Tiatto was brilliant, Kisnorbo was excellent, Hughes had a great game and Matty Fryatt put in a superb performance.
Guest Gist Posted 12 August 2006 Posted 12 August 2006 Too be fair we played a very poor Ipswich side today but it was still much better and credit to RK for making the correct changes to the side that made a difference.
Mort Posted 13 August 2006 Author Posted 13 August 2006 Too be fair we played a very poor Ipswich side today but it was still much better and credit to RK for making the correct changes to the side that made a difference. Now all we have to do is learn the lessons, deal with one or two of our defensive mistakes and carry the momentum we've got from yesterday into the Coventry match which is going to be much tougher than yesterday's game... at the same time RK should see now the vast benifits of playing a proper, attacking 4-4-2 formation, Josh Low looks like being a first team regular now
