Louise Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 Can you give us some more detail Louise? I checked the RL website and there's nothing there. Was just the top story on the news bulletin, the reporter said exactly what I've put. Annoyed me because it seems as if the FT are coming out against MM already, and surely that's unprofessional of them - and exactly what they accused MM of doing. And what that shareholder did. Don't know if RL have done an interview with them or if Barber has been reading their comments on here.
Louise Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 Oh dear. Sounds like someone forgot to tell RL that it was a secret e-mail. They've just been reading out a fan questionaire sent around by the FT asking members if they'd be in favour of a groundshare and saying they hope the MM bid is just a preliminary one. ETA: I only caught the end of the report, but they'll probably go over it again in the Moan In.

Don't know if RL have done an interview with them or if Barber has been reading their comments on here. Probably just RL spinning things. The FT have not come out against MM at all, they have attempted to correct the potentially damaging media stories about £25M being on the table when it clearly isn't. I think this has made a lot of people wake up to the fact that this needs to be carefully considered, not just accepted without question. On another note, perhaps the Board are using the trust to speak to the media? If it is for the good of the club why not. Offers deniability and gets the message across at the same time.

What a cock-up. Know the results for the groundshare part?
davieG Posted 6 November 2006 Author Posted 6 November 2006 Well based on their previous headline of MM issues ultimatum agree offer by ...... or I'm off; I'll take this with a handful of salt. Chances are they've mis-interpreted it or taken something out of conext just to get a headline. In fact the whole media circus misrepresenting information like the mercury's constant reference to MM's £25 m bid is at best mischievious and at worst blatant lies, but that's what i've come to expect and I'm not surprised. They are doing LCFC and it's fans a major disservice.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 Barber really is a twat. As for what he's saying at the moment, he reckons the Mandaric bid is around half of what the shareholders invested (which was £6.6million), for all those without RL.
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 Barber is saying sharholders are getting half the amount they put in (3 million) No real reference or promises regarding further finance No material differnce between what there is now and what Mandaric is offering. Set to be turned down.
Louise Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 You can hear the RL news bulletin about the secret email here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/leicester (link on the right) Or listen to Barber speculating on the radio now. Don't like this. We're so unprofessional.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 Where are all the people now who said the bid should be low so that more funds were left over for the club's development once the deal went through?

Manwell Pablo Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 Sounds to me like Mandaric has no business plan what so ever.
sackmycook Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 Sounds to me like Mandaric has no business plan what so ever. thats proably how hes operated all these years. no idea, yet a self made millionare
Leicfox Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 It doesn't sound like speculation to me. Does'nt to me either : Barber says he's 100% certain.
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 thats proably how hes operated all these years. no idea, yet a self made millionare Ok Lets have the people who saved the club ripped off with no gurantee of change or any money at all then. Ken Bates is a self made millionaire, Leeds are on the relegation zone. That offer needs improving.
davieG Posted 6 November 2006 Author Posted 6 November 2006 Barber is funny, in a curious way. Or curious in a funny way
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 Barber is funny, in a curious way. I think he's been extremly unproffesional releasing this information. Not that I'm complaining.
Louise Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 Certainly enough to scare off MM or any other investor.

Manwell Pablo Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 Certainly enough to scare off MM or any other investor. Thinking about it, this crap Baabaa is spouting has probabley come striaght from the board room, RL is one of it's main media tools after all. Probabley more games being played. Nice distraction from Saturdays shambles as well.

Well he might have one but if he doesn't write it down on paper it's not going to make the club sell is it. I don't know, him or any one else for that matter would be better than Baabaa.

So is the Leicester Mercury whom they are supposed to have some sort of publication agreement/rights with but I'd doubt very much they are too happy with the Mockery's constant reference to MMs £25m bid.
