Jon the Hat Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 Tim Davies rips money out of this club by trousering a couple of hundred grand a year and treats himself to a bonus for being a good boy and to celebrate a season which led to relegation and some tidy rape charges against the clubs staff. Brilliant. He's done a fu ck load more for the club than a lot of the players have, so I'd start with them if you are going down that road.
Thracian Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 This amazes me. You've moaned on here for about a year now, everyday you have something to grumble about. As each passing day goes by you step up a gear on the moaning about the poor treatment of our academy players. So here is your chance for a change. To possibly give us some money to attract better players and tickle your fancy. You seem convinced with the current lot in charge that our academy players will be ignored for the chosen men, yet aren't interested in a potential takeover? Simply stunning. Sorry Ric but the MM stampede has never appealed to me. I'm not irrevocably against a takeover but not by some foreign mercenary with not the slightest personal interest in or connection to the club. Whether money will solve all Leicester's problems as everyone seems to think I have my doubts anyway but what I want, takeover or not, is a change of emphasis not yet another wholesale upheaval ... or some fast-imported rent-a-team. But you are right about me feeling down about things. Cos I think we've gone backwards again to everything that was wrong about last season.
The People's Hero Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 One of the wheels has fallen off the bus but I'm trying to repair it while it trundles along in a lop-sided fashion like something out of a Buster Keaton film. Roll up, roll up. I've put 'The Entertainer' on the sound system and started to film the whole affair in black n white.
Swedging Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 Even if it's a case of him offering to loan the club £20 million on a 0% interest basis. Surely that's better than paying a high rate to Teachers. He charged Pompey around 4% for his loans. I think Teacher's works out at around 6.5-7%
Fez of Mahrez Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 I've put 'The Entertainer' on the sound system and started to film the whole affair in black n white. The whole sorry affair. An affair would certainly spice up the film.
Manwell Pablo Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 He charged Pompey around 4% for his loans. I think Teacher's works out at around 6.5-7% A saving of about half a million a year.
Ric Flair Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 Sorry Ric but the MM stampede has never appealed to me. But you are right about me feeling down about things. Cos I think we've gone backwards again to everything that was wrong about last season. Thrac, I'm as unhappy as the next fan. This club isn't going forward, it's getting to the stage of desperation for me. I had high hopes of us finally developing the youngsters at this club and having a great young team to be proud of. But in reality, it's not as simple as that. Either, our youngsters aren't good enough to take this club back in to the premeirship or we have a manager who doesn't believe in them or doesn't have the bottle to take a chance on them. I'm not in a position to say either way, but there's not much proof that they can. We do have one of the best academy sides in the country but I still don't think it's enough to improve our team in the short term. Money is where it's at now, sad to say it but it is. I've quoted it before, but i'll quote it again. Andy Dufrane once said 'Get busy living, or get busy dying'. Without money, I can't see us ever competing with the best clubs in this league let alone the best in the premiership. Couple that with our doubts about our current manager and it's not good. Milan maybe a way out of this and on to better things.
The People's Hero Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 He not busy being born, is busy dying.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 If I ever get bored of being a moderator, my kamikaze last act will be to merge this with the original Milan Mandaric thread.
The People's Hero Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 If I ever get bored of being a moderator, my kamikaze last act will be to merge this with the original Milan Mandaric thread. And lots of other unrelated threads? I'll be honest I'm so bored I could cry, so happy I could cry and so upset I could cry. To exarcerbate this, I've just peeled an onion, squirted lemon juice in my eye and been kicked in the bollocks whilst watching bambi. Not crying though, not me, no no siree.
Ric Flair Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 If I ever get bored of being a moderator, my kamikaze last act will be to merge this with the original Milan Mandaric thread. I was actually planning on doing this if the Milan deal goes tits up. Don't steal my thunder Fezzder Anson.
The People's Hero Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 Do it Flair, before old Fez Dennis does it!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 Do it Flair, before old Fez Dennis does it! Double dare ya!
Babylon Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 The bus may be ready to roll again.... Meeting is on Leicester City board members will meet Milan Mandaric face to face for the first time today to discuss his bid to take over the club. The deputation will open negotiations with Mandaric and his representatives at a secret location following the tycoon's £25million bid a week ago. Mandaric told me: "I gave them the proposal and they have now come back to me. We will meet and they will tell me what they like about it, what they don't like about it, and we will try to find an agreement. "If we do agree in principle then they will put that to the shareholders and, if there are any issues, hopefully everything will work out okay." The amount of the bid has been questioned in some quarters, but Mandaric confirmed that the total figure of around £25m was "not far away" when all the elements, such as removing the millstone of the near £16m stadium debt and buying the shares, were tallied up. He said: "That was my bid to buy the club and that is what will be under negotiation. There will be discussions back and forward on the details and I am very hopeful agreement can be reached. If not, then the club will go away and consider any other options, but I feel very positive." Mandaric's confirmation that the bid is £25m comes in the wake of a suggestion from the Foxes Trust that the figure is "significantly inaccurate". In an email to its members, which was leaked to the media, the Trust said it hoped the bid would be "considerably improved". And Radio Leicester last night claimed that Mandaric's offer for the shares was £3m, half their worth. The City board's decision on whether to recommend or reject Mandaric's bid is expected by the end of the week, after which the Serbian-American millionaire intends to come to Leicester and further explain his ambitions for the club if all has gone smoothly. He said: "If everything works out all right, I can then go to Leicester and find out more about what will be needed for the manager and for other parts of the club. "It is my intention to give the manager all the support I can, and also to meet the fans and tell them what I hope to do for the club." Before that happens, however, a decision has to be made, and today's opening talks will definitely have an element of horse-trading. In any deal like this, no-one bids the asking price and no-one accepts the first offer. If a middle ground is successfully found, then the formalities are all that remain to be completed and, with the City board pledged to act "in the best interests of the club", the outcome will be eagerly awaited.
sackmycook Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 reckon we should stick the club on ebay and see what happens
Milky Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 At least the board and mandaric are finally meeting today. Hopefully they can bang something out
gatesheadfox Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 reckon we should stick the club on ebay and see what happens i suggested this a while back, it'd probably result with a lot of "yes i received my leicester city in the post this morning, the quality is shit so i am not sending the cheque"

sackmycook Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 i suggested this a while back, it'd probably result with a lot of "yes i received my leicester city in the post this morning, the quality is shit so i am not sending the cheque" its always best to get the money before you post stuff in this case we'll probably end up with a paypal chargeback cos there wasn't a tracking number and negative feedback from a pissed of eastern european
teblin Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 I reckon they will sort it out today! Lets hope so and then we can take the club forward!!!!
Master Fox Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 Here's the link to the meeting article. http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/details.asp?k...112006376701131 Come on... sort it out you feckers. I just hope the club agree to his offer... I really do. We can't turn this down. If the shareholders turn this down I think we should kill them.
lcfc_jme Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 I just hope the club agree to his offer... I really do. We can't turn this down. If the shareholders turn this down I think we should kill them. Nice idea. I'd like to do that as well, and I think we should hire the A Team as backup On a less serious note, will we hear anything about this meeting in an official statement tonight, or will we have to wait 'til a later date?!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 7 November 2006 Posted 7 November 2006 I think people will be very disappointed if they expect us to come to any conclusion today, or within the next week or two.
