Daggers Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 Where is the bit about him being an avid reader of FoxesTalk and liking the work of Ultra? ...that was SO there the last time it was referred to in a thread!
lcfc_jme Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 Where is the bit about him being an avid reader of FoxesTalk and liking the work of Ultra? ...that was SO there the last time it was referred to in a thread! Not sure, maybe it could somehow re-appear as if by magic So we still have no updated news on him then?? Can't see anything being leaked to the public until around Thursday evening/Friday morning meself, but if anyone knows anything feel free to leme know
Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 So we still have no updated news on him then?? Can't see anything being leaked to the public until around Thursday evening/Friday morning meself, but if anyone knows anything feel free to leme know Apart from Barber stating that the bid is around £3.3million?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 Incidentally, has anyone else had Mandy by Barry Manilow in their head for the past two weeks or so? Another week lodged inside my cranium and I may well turn seriously anti-Mandaric.
lcfc_jme Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 Apart from Barber stating that the bid is around £3.3million? Should this be trusted and believed though?? I know Barber talks out of his arse and he doesn't seem to get a lot right... It's a LOT less than the press-rumoured £25million, and less still than the £6million I've heard thrown around this forum :pinch:
Louise Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 You came and you gave without taking.... oh Mandy...

It's a LOT less than the press-rumoured £25million, and less still than the £6million I've heard thrown around this forum :pinch: The £25million is totally removed from the actual bid for the club. £25million is a fantasy figure of what it would take to buy the stadium back and invest in the playing squad, further to actually buying the club itself. The £6million-ish bandied around on here is a figure close to what the investors put into the club in the first place. As to whether you can trust Barber or not, it's the first time a ballpark figure has been put on the actual bid made and he seemed pretty sure of his sources. It won't be far wrong in my opinion.
London_Fox Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 If this all goes wrong and MM walks away from the club it looks like a few others fans are waiting to jump at the chance to lure him in...I can just imagine watching Wolves get promoted in a few seasons backrolled by him to success, or worse...f$%est.
Swedging Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 I'm not sure if this info has appeared before, but this is Mandaric's background (from Wikipedia) You need to be careful with wikipedia here because many (most?) living people who have an entry work hard to make it their story.

Fans, perhaps. Shareholders, perhaps not. Especially since some Wolves' fans are suggesting that he met Hayward.
London_Fox Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 I'm willing to bet there are some shareholders in this league who would bite his hand off either because they think he'll take the club forward and they're fans or they see a chance for a profit (depends on the shareholder) but there must be one or two at least...
Chairman of the Bored Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 You need to be careful with wikipedia here because many (most?) living people who have an entry work hard to make it their story. What, as in "a fairy tale"? I'm verifying the evidence through another source right now. Generally I'm impressed with said Wiki, a useful reference tool. However, I wouldn't rely 100% on anything found on the internet. A variety of sources is necessary to get the whole picture.

Right then Fezzle, even though you behave as the village-idiot sometimes, I shall trust what you are telling me on this occasion In this case, maybe what somebody previously posted about the board meeting with MM to ask him to up the bid a little is closer to the truth than I first thought, and if 3.3mil is what has been offered, it doesn't suprise me that the board is closely scrutinizing and taking their time with it

Not for £3m they wont.

Well it doesn't sound like he's giving our shareholders a chance of a profit so why do you think he'd give it to others.
Swedging Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 What, as in "a fairy tale"? No. Just spun heavily with contentious stuff omitted.
Daggers Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 Incidentally, has anyone else had Mandy by Barry Manilow in their head Nope ~ I'm Mandy, Fly Me by 10cc

Haha cheeky as I may be, you know I'm right And I know you know your onions , that's why I said that I'd believe what you chose to tell me Your predictions for match scorelines suggest you're more clever than you choose to let on What even if it's 3 gobstoppers, 1 condom, a packet jamy dodgers and selling off the academy land for housing? Throw in a packet of bacon fries and a bag of chips and the deal is way too good to turn down
davieG Posted 6 November 2006 Author Posted 6 November 2006 Thatll do me nicely, as long as we can keep the academy, im game. Nope, with that deal the academy has gone, kaput, is no more, dead.
