Thracian Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 You don't sell your best players to any team in the same League unless you're in the Premiership. I wouldn't sell him for 5 million because we won't replace him with an equally as good or better players than him. If however a Premiership club makes an offer of that amount, I suppose we haven't got much of a choice if we're still stuck in this league. No doubt this will have alerted Premiership clubs that have been keeping an eye on him <_< And people were saying we could never pay off the stadium loan! .
Ric Flair Posted 31 August 2006 Author Posted 31 August 2006 And people were saying we could never pay off the stadium loan! . We can't really, we need about £30 million and our squad is worth about £10 million, which if you sold it all would then leave us up the shitter anyway.

Ric Flair Posted 31 August 2006 Author Posted 31 August 2006 Are you serious or is that with the long term loan interest? I might well be wrong, but at the minute all we are doing is paying the interest, which is £1 million per season. I am sure the ground cost us £30 million and we haven't paid any of it off yet or perhaps a years worth off when we were in the premiership? Either way for us to pay it off we need to be in the premeirship for 10 consecutive years. Not good is it? That's why Mandaric wouldn't be that bad for us.
lookwhaticando Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Let's wait for the official figure from Foxes_Trust.

I thought we owed around £8/10m and would have to negotiate settlement of the long term interest. And how much is Belvoir Drive worth?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Totally different ball game. I thought we owed around £8/10m and would have to negotiate settlement of the long term interest. What a f.....g mess. And how much is Belvoir Drive worth? Sunderland have offered £400m for it.

Surreal Madrid Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 I know im a bit behind but what happened to the money we got at the end of the season from the connolly deal? That was spent in advance on Fryatt/Hume.
fox123 Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 That was spent in advance on Fryatt/Hume. ah right ok cheers for that
Manwell Pablo Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 That was spent in advance on Fryatt/Hume. and lost gate reciepts and Elvis Hammond.

I think I am right in saying that we owe about £16m on the stadium and pay about £925K in interest alone. We do not pay anything off the capital at this rate. In fact the debt may grow with time dependant on how we do in the league. Payments are related to our league position and other factors. In the case of the ground share (and I am not raising that again) Tigers would have put in £8m and we would have obtained a more commercially acceptable loan for a similar amount and that would have been put into a joint company for the buying and running of the stadium.

Thracian Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 That's still serious money. So does no-one have a sensible guestimate of what Belvoir Drive is worth or its acreage?.
Babylon Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 That's still serious money. So does no-one have a sensible guestimate of what Belvoir Drive is worth or its acreage?. For each house worth about £150k on there, the land price would be worth £50k I reckon (just looked at some land prices... I must warn i'm no expert on this). 100 houses £5m 200 houses £10m ?????????? Maybe ??????????
Swedging Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 That's still serious money. So does no-one have a sensible guestimate of what Belvoir Drive is worth or its acreage?. How many pitches does it have on it?
Thracian Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 With all that I reckon we could clear our ground debt completely within three/four years and still have a better team with which to challenge for promotion either this year or next than we field right now. And, given a little luck with specific player development, we would still have perfectly adequate footballers and funds to operate respectably in the Premiership should it happen. I won't labour you with details but I'll be interested to see how much of it happens. And it has nothing to do with any speculator or, indeed anything or anyone who's not already there at the club. What I suspect will happen is that the management will constantly avoid taking the action which will pay off the ground debt, in the hope that we achieve an early promotion. I've seen it happen to individuals with house debts and it never quite works out. The debts keep rising, together with the problems that arise as a result. They are not helped by the fans who seem to ignore the restraints that debt imposes and refuse to contemplate selling any of our better players, whether they're replaceable with better or not. Hopefully the management will identify the formulae for combined on and off field success and apply it with vigour and conviction.
ROSSINDA Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Hammond won't go, however RK inferred that Sylla will go if an offer comes in by saying: "He is our player until we hear different." One problem, who will bid for him. Craig Levein !
lookwhaticando Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Craig Levein ! He's still presently unemployed.
ROSSINDA Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Whats your problem with Kenton he's very good at the back has good distrubution, hardly ever hoofs and "links defense to attack" well. Improved our squad no end! gets foward better then any of our defenders. All Stearmen has done this season is hoof until he was dropped! Admitidly in a perfect world it would be Stearmen right back Kenton left back. I agree, but at the moment I think Kenton and J Low seem to work very well together, OK Kenton sometimes makes a hash of it, but in all fairness Paddy Mc hasn't been the greatest, and Nissa well "Old Premiership Boy" is just plan old useless. It pains me to say it, as he has never been one of my favorites regardless of where he played, but our best defender at the moment is Kisusesless sorry Kisnorbo. Now if both where playing at 100% I still rate Stearman as a better right back then Kenton, likewise IMO Kenton would be the better on the left. To blow all of the above out of the water, at the moment our defense 'seems' to be ok, not conceded in the last three and all that, so you have to say 'if it aint broke don't try and fix it' One final point, going back to my first line, I think, a 'firing on all cylinders' Stearman would be even better partnership with J Low and all I can hope is that not before too long we are treated to seeing that .
