Babylon Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Yeah cus they would go up there and get instant first team football. Get over it. I don't for a minute believe Sunderland would buy them to be in their first 16... In fact there is absolutly no chance of it happening. They could go because they think Sunderland are a bigger club, they fancy working with Keane, think they have a chance of being a prem club.... But NOT because of lack of first team opportunities.

Exactly what I said a page or so earlier. It's not as if this club could be accused of not giving youngsters a chance, perhaps us fans would like certain youngsters to be given more of a chance but it's like that at every club. Sunderland have some great youngsters of their own aswell.
Stevosevic Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 This bid seems a bit of a strange one. Surely Keane has never seen Stearman play and would you really trust your assistant manager to purchase a player for a seven figure sum when you dont a know a thing about the lad? IMO anyway.
maccfox Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 No deal for Stearmen should be accepted, we should make it perfectly clear we have one right back up for sale and his name is Alan Maybury, special Deadline day price of 750,000 pounds Thats not a special deadline day price its an april fools day price
Bluefoxtim Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 NEWS JUST COME IN ON SSN LEICESTER ACCEPT BID FROM SUNDERLAND - i think! kinda turned it on when he was saying it!
lcfc_jme Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 NEWS JUST COME IN ON SSN LEICESTER ACCEPT BID FROM SUNDERLAND - i think! kinda turned it on when he was saying it! Nah I've got SSN on and I'm sure he said "Leicester have turned down a bid for England Under 21 Defender Richard Stearman. More news on that when we get it."
Wils Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Nah I've got SSN on and I'm sure he said "Leicester have turned down a bid for England Under 21 Defender Richard Stearman. More news on that when we get it." How sure
Thracian Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 I don't for a minute believe Sunderland would buy them to be in their first 16... In fact there is absolutly no chance of it happening. They could go because they think Sunderland are a bigger club, they fancy working with Keane, think they have a chance of being a prem club.... But NOT because of lack of first team opportunities. I think you've listed four good reasons actually. Unless I've somehow missed the first team opportunities enjoyed by Gradel/Dodds and the programme compilers have missed em too. Dodds will probably have forgotten how to score altogether before he gets a chance. I've often thought he's too laid back and understated for his own good. As forGradel he is just the sort of exciting individual the team needs to involve if it's to get some bums back on seats.
Janx Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Nah I've got SSN on and I'm sure he said "Leicester have turned down a bid for England Under 21 Defender Richard Stearman. More news on that when we get it." Thats what I call definitive!
lcfc_jme Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 How sure Ermmm i was gona say in the high 90's percentage wise, but now you're asking me the question I'm becoming less sure Still up around 85 - 95 % though
Thracian Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 They're alright. Tiattos have been much better. For one match that I can recall.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 For one match that I can recall. Fez defends Tiatto shocker He has set up both of Kisnorbo's goals.
Manwell Pablo Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Fez defends Tiatto shocker He has set up both of Kisnorbo's goals. Ah, Two games, facts right Thracian.
Thracian Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Ah, Two games, facts right Thracian. Wasn't one of those from a free-kick? And weren't we talking about corners.
lcfc_jme Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Wasn't one of those from a free-kick? And weren't we talking about corners. The first Kisnorbo goal, against Ipswich in the first 10 mins
Manwell Pablo Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Wasn't one of those from a free-kick? And weren't we talking about corners. You will find I used the word "set-pieces"
Thracian Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 The first Kisnorbo goal, against Ipswich in the first 10 mins Thanks for that.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 I love how easily we wander off-topic. What the hell has the quality of Tiatto and Porter's corner taking got to do with Sunderland trying to buy Stearman? hahaha.
Stevosevic Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Personally i wouldnt mind if Stearman did go. Apparently transfers can take no more than 10minutes because clubs can just fax the forms to each other, meaning with some cash we could get some last minute deals done.
Thracian Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 I love how easily we wander off-topic. What the hell has the quality of Tiatto and Porter's corner taking got to do with Sunderland trying to buy Stearman? hahaha. Distracting Sunderland til the deadline passes, of course!.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Distracting Sunderland til the deadline passes, of course!. Would serve you right if they bought Porter instead
lookwhaticando Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Would serve you right if they bought Porter instead  If we're lucky, they'll take Tiatto with them * I bet that comment's gonna get me into trouble *
Mark Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 You don't sell your best players to any team in the same League unless you're in the Premiership. I wouldn't sell him for 5 million because we won't replace him with an equally as good or better players than him. If however a Premiership club makes an offer of that amount, I suppose we haven't got much of a choice if we're still stuck in this league. No doubt this will have alerted Premiership clubs that have been keeping an eye on him <_<
