SystonFox Posted 14 September 2006 Posted 14 September 2006 ok, you know the scene, footy has been dire and everyone in your section of the ground is quite and fed up. then some randomer rises and shouts something hilarious. it must have happened, so what is your funny random moment at a city game, home or away. mine has to be crewe at home last season, 1 - 0 down 5 mins before HT and a bloke a few rows infront stands up, turns towards the back and shouts, "fock THIS, IM OFF FOR A CUPPER, DONT WANNA MISS THE **** HALF TIME INTERVAL NOW DO I?!" not only was it random, but it was funny and also very true. classic.

Paul Ramsey Posted 14 September 2006 Posted 14 September 2006 I miss the guy in the double decker who used to once a game at random shout "come on you city slickers". Was a legend.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 I can't really watch that at work, what happens?
steve_wilson101 Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 I miss the guy in the double decker who used to once a game at random shout "come on you city slickers". Was a legend. I used to sit near there. Not sure if it was the same guy (think it might have been) - used to shout - come on Leicester - you know you're best-er. Brilliant, happy memories (Filbo, atmosphere, premiership, good results, cup wins, Europe - oh how things change).
Fez of Mahrez Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 And the old boy who only ever shouted "Come on youuuuuuuu blueboyyyyyyyyyyyyys". I've since adopted that for myself.
Milky Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 scowcroft had just headed the ball really shitly and a bloke behind me said "that scowcroft has a head like a sheriffs badge!" a badge!?, i've heard of 50 pence piece but a sheriffs badge? i broke into a snigger.
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 The City Slickers guy was an absolute legend! You would probably be thrown out by some c*ntish steward if you shoulted anything remotely funny now!
Daggers Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 The TV commentator has an open air box in Cali, Colombia, because it's so damn hot. So when we went to El Classico between Deportivo and America we got to see the face of the man as he screams... "Gol. Golgolgolgolgolgolgolgolgolgolgolgolgol GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!" ...and he looked as if he was going to explode. I reckon you don't need any other kind of banter at a game. Top marks!
SystonFox Posted 16 September 2006 Author Posted 16 September 2006 I can't really watch that at work, what happens? its foreign highlights and foreign commentary of the 1st weekend of the prem this season, everton get a penalty vs watford and as the everton player runs up to hit it, all goes quite and you can hear some one shout "you've got a massive dildo up your arrrrrrrse" in a scottish accent. i'd be interested to know which team he follows. very funny.
Finnegan Posted 16 September 2006 Posted 16 September 2006 I once sat in the kop infront of some maniac Akinbiyi fanatic who spent the whole game hollering 'pass it to Ade', 'give it to ****' Ade!', 'cmon Ade son!', 'no wonder he doesn't score, you coonts never pass it to him!' etc. That was prime for a giggle.
teblin Posted 16 September 2006 Posted 16 September 2006 Not really banter but just after the carling stand went up. I guy behind me said to his mate: "thats the new stand over there look" You don't say!
anotherwin Posted 16 September 2006 Posted 16 September 2006 When I first started watching City in the cop, 1970 something? there was this real funny Irish guy with an amazingly loud voice who used to berate the opposition goalies, eg: "Rimmer! how's your nerve?!," and " You'll be in the Towers by the time I've finished with ya!", I think he got chucked out by a steward for drinking out of a bottle of wine, and either moved or never showed up again, pity as the guy was ace.
loz Posted 16 September 2006 Posted 16 September 2006 When sat in the family stand at fibert street David Seaman had kicked a ball over the small stand oppisite the carling stand and someone shouted "calm down David we only have two footballs." That still makes me laugh today.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 16 September 2006 Posted 16 September 2006 When I was at Huddersfield Uni, I went to the McAlpine (I think the names has changed now) to watch Town play Bolton in the Championship (1996-97 season when Bolton walked the league). Bolton fans sang 'We're going up, we're going up, we're going... Bolton's going up !!' To which Huddersfield fans replied 'You're going down, You're going down, you're going... Straight back down again !!' QUALITY
anotherwin Posted 16 September 2006 Posted 16 September 2006 When Adi Akinbye finally scored, the kop (I spelled it right this time!) spontaniously broke out with 'Halleluya - 'Halleluya -'Halleluya - funny as f**k
